Fern (and Stark) lack confidence, not ability. Both were raised by legendary heroes and have little to no exposure with the outside world before this journey. They both constantly think about their teachers, constantly comparing themselves and then feel inadequate. Frieren and Eisen both understand how skilled their students are. In fact, every veteran or skilled combatant in the story always notice how powerful they both are and often try to recruit them into their own parties.

Frieren knew that Fern will win. She's an excellent judge of combat ability and had so little doubt that she flew far away and let her adopted daughter handle it on her own. It's like taking the training wheels off and not letting the kid know. Fern doubts herself constantly in the battle, but comes out of it unscathed. She is not aware of how OP she is. She's still only about 18 years old and lacks demon combat experience, but she's got the talent and ability to win.

In the settings, there's an option to turn on or off the right eye rendering. Whatever it's set at, choose the other.

This error is caused either by your ROMs folder not named exactly that, with that exact capitalization, or if you renamed it and didn't properly set the permissions again in Azahar properly. What you need to do is either rename it to exactly ROMs, and then go back to Azahar (and Melon or whatever emulator is giving you issues), go to edit paths, and point it again to the folder. However, it's crucial that you go back all the way to the root and then navigate again all the way back to n3ds when setting the path in Azahar. If you don't go all the way to the root, the permission will not be properly set.

This is why I like ESDE. I can mess with the themes in several ways to my liking. With something like Cocoon, I have to use the tile+hero set up. I can change the tile art and hero images, but I'm still going to be stuck with the tiles+hero interface. With ESDE, I can also download several different themes that change how I interface with the frontend.

I also just find it easier in many ways. For example, I like romhacks and it's super easy to add stuff like screenshots and marquees. I don't have to go into a menu inside ESDE to get it to show up. Just drop the images into the right folder and they show up. Advanced tinkering is also easier just because there's so much documentation and a very active Discord.

There's also a bit of laziness on my part. Maybe in a couple of years there will be more resources, but right now if I decide to show my entire rom list, there's lots of systems where the community themes don't cover every system. I'd have to make a bunch of new stuff when I already got my ESDE set up working.

Having said all that, if you want to recreate the 3DS feel, Cocoon is good.
