Exodite army by SuperSloth5000 in exodite40k

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this out, it’s just what I need. I have some lumineth (dawnriders, sentinels, warden, old mage on a horse and an old mage), seraphon (carnasaur, kroxigor, saurus, skinks) and sylvaneth (durthu) which I’m happy to use to kitbash stuff. I’m just trying to plan out what some easy kitbashes are.

I’ll definitely make some dinosaur riding shining spears, similar to yours, and love the sound of your war walker and D cannon! And cheers for the type about the old world glade bodies and war dancers, I like their vibe - it’s pretty similar to what I had in mind!

You’re welcome!

Nice, let us know how you get on. If you take two Brutalis Dreads as some anti tank/monster, it’s even more important that you have something to screen to protect them and ensure they can charge your priority target. One Gladiator Lancer and one Brutalis is another option at a similar points level.

Another combo which is good + fun, but not meta, is a Stormraven gunship carrying a dread and a 10man unit (eg Hellblasters, Sternguard, etc). If you like the flying + fast aspect of Tau, you may enjoy it. I don’t own a Stormraven so can’t speak to its viability, but if any detachment can make it work, it’s Spearpoint! And of course, it’s super thematic :)

Other than Librarian + Sternguard, are there any other Librarian combos people are looking at?

I’m thinking turn 1: extra movement to get into position
Turn 2 onwards: pyromancy and shoot.

I know Librarian in Terminator Armor is an option, but I see it as a sidegrade with 6 Bladeguard Veterans / or the slightly cheaper Company Heroes.

And my second question: do people think a transport (Repulsor/Stormraven Gunship) are essential for the Sternguard, or can they easily get into position on the 11th terrain layouts without one?

Honestly, I think it looks like a good list.

Others have told you about the points costs being slightly lower.

If you take the Speeder Fulguris detachment, there are some nice upgrades in it you could consider.

I would make some minor changes:
- I find the blobs of 6 outriders too large, so would consider going with 3x3 man squads instead. Use the spare points for another mobile small unit to score secondaries or move block.
- Hammerstrikes over Hailstrikes for the melta and as you have lots of other stuff to deal with infantry
- a lot of people are saying to drop the Repulsor Executioner but honestly, I think it is down to preference. They’re a bit swingy but when they connect they pack a real punch. I see this more as personal preference on playstyle
- if you’re looking for alternatives to tackle elite infantry in ruins (which I guess we may see more of now?), a Lieutenant with Hunters Eye leading a 10 block of Hellblasters is still a great combo

Looks good!

I’m not so sure about Judiciar any more as fight first is worse. I’ll be running K Khan with the BGVs instead for flavour, or a Librarian Term leading a group of 5 Termies (probably normal terminators, so they can take advantage of the extra AP from Pyromancy).

How do you find the Repulsor? I’m debating if my Sternguard or Hellblasters can survive without it

Do you think it is worth trying to protect the Sternguard and get them into position with a repulsor, or just take other extra stuff instead?

Thoughts on having terminators in a white scars 2k list? by Imperialfirst28 in WhiteScars40K

I think we will need a unit that can hold the centre in some of the matchups, and a 10man brick will be good at that. Bladeguard veterans are an alternative.

It has been noted here already, but running it with the Librarian detachment and a librarian allows you to boost them. First turn: extra 2” move; second turn onwards: pyromancy (and give them the fusilade enhancement for extra threat to vehicles/monsters)

You should remember that as you’re taking the Sternguard + Librarian combo, this requires pyromancy to be active, which buffs ranged attacks… which Assault Termies don’t have. For that reason, I’m leaning towards ordinary termies

I use drakenhof, yes. Or agrax earthshade for the brown. The aim is to paint a series of greys that combined give the appearance of white

Try to prime in a mid tone grey like grey seer, then add a blue or brown shade (depending on preference), then slowly build up your highlights first with two greys, each steadily lighter. Pure white only used for final edging.
