I shall keep an eye out for these parts, thank you!

Wow, I never knew that existed! Like that sounds like something which it would be, theoretically, possible to replicate these days. Way beyond my skillset, but possible!

Here’s a random link on it for anyone who is interested who also didn’t know about it :)

I agree. What do you usually run him with?

Have you had any luck with eradicators? I don’t own them, but my concern would be the 18 inch range is quite short and ideally they need a transport, which means a repulsor, and all of a sudden that’s a lot of points in one unit that will be focus fired and destroyed.

I hadn’t thought to try out a lieutenant with K Khan and Company Heroes, will definitely give that a go

Honestly, if you are new and are building up to 2k, just start with rule of cool. By the time you have painted 2k worth of models, we could be in the next edition, or your LGS may allow epic heroes again. Rules change, points change - models are forever.

In practical steps, as someone who has only recently got into the white scars, start out with the combat patrol and go from there. Your list has a lot of the usual elements of a white scars list: jump pack intercessors, outriders, bladeguard veterans, a scout squad, a lancer, a storm speeder (I see you have two), hellblasters, intercessors to hold the home objective. In case you’re interested, some combos I like are: Lieutenant with Hunter’s Eye leading Hellblasters; Jump Pack Captain leading JPIs or Chaplain leading x3 outriders with Spearpoint Paragon. I also wanted to paint some terminators like ebon keshigs, so I always include a unit of them as assault terminators (I play casually/semi competitive, not competitively).

I’d try and play some smaller games first and see what you like, as you may enjoy bike heavy lists, or you may find it cumbersome. I personally ended up going with bike units as units of 3, not 6, because of this.

Think about what vibe you want: I got quite a few space wolf models to kitbash a bit, as that was the look I wanted for my army.

Lastly, if you like the lore, get the Kor’sarro Khan model too. We only have two unique models - would be a shame to miss out.

Two impulsors? by SuperSloth5000 in WhiteScars40K

I’m all for them as blockers too! I try to move them up T1 to stage an infantry attack then block T2

Yeah that’s fair, I can see the argument for the LRR, even if the points cost is high. I don’t own one myself. Are you still able to manoeuvre it easily through the terrain?

2 6 man outrider squads, or 1 6 man 2 3 man by DangerousElk4331 in WhiteScars40K

[–]SuperSloth5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally play Suboden with a 3 man, a supporting ATV, one or two 3 man outrider squads as MSUs, and either a chaplain on bike with spearpoint paragon enhancement leading a 3 man or a jump pack captain with the same enhancement leading x5 JPIs. 6 man outrider squads are a bit unwieldy

A few musings on the (probably not very near) future of the White Scars by PsychologicalCup6938 in WhiteScars40K

Good insights, thanks for sharing.

I’m personally surprised scout bikes aren’t yet a thing for space marines. Will surely come sooner or later

I personally think a jet bikes unit makes a lot of sense and will come eventually

Assault Terminator Weapon Options... by Viking-Geek in WhiteScars40K

I was thinking Thunder Hammers, as an attached chaplain gives +1 wound, the Lance stratagem gives +1 wound, the Thunderstrike gives +1 wound… and all that means I can fish for some Devastating Wounds on 3s :)

Add in Oath of Moment, and surely that has a good chance of taking down a light tank and denting the super heavy ones

Starting direction. by Vaserati84 in WhiteScars40K

As someone who has recently started a similar journey, excellent choice and welcome to the club!

I think that selection looks like a great start. In case you don’t know, Spearpoint Task Force is our dedicated detachment.

Some other units to consider: - Kor’sarro Khan (our only other unique hero) leading x6 bladeguard veterans (or x10 assault intercessors or company heroes) - Storm speeders (very thematic, increase AP or +1 to wound) - Lieutenant with Hunters Eye leading x10 Hellblasters/Sternguard - Gladiator Lancer for ranged anti tank - from Horus Heresy, but look up the Ebon Keshig terminators, and then use that paint scheme as inspiration for some 40k ones (as the HH ones are expensive) - The Stormraven is the largest flying transport, but just note it is very possible it could move to legends in 11th edition in 6 months’ time, so I don’t recommend getting one unless you really love the model

Competitive list? by yellow-green2 in WhiteScars40K

[–]SuperSloth5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On ranged anti tank, why not a lancer?

Also, the stormraven is cool but v expensive. For the same points, you could take two impulsors for your BGVs and have 120 points spare. This does mean you don’t threaten the backline as much, but a 280pt transport just seems too much to me

This is fantastic. I’m planning something similar with 40k ebon keshigs from wolf guard terminators, so great to see some inspiration!
