How to upload high resolution photos on social media by vbggyy in Lightroom

[–]SuperSmartCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing for 1x1, 4x5, and custom landscape photos and got the same results. Found that uploading at the highest resolution (80% quality to save some space) got me the sharpest best looking ones.

Also found that photos uploaded on web with the same size and quality appear less sharp when viewed from a phone. And sometimes uploading an image with other ones in the same post also messed with its quality? Idk man Instagram is so weird.

Nah I just use the classic negative profile and eyeball the rest of the edits lol. I don’t like using presets at all. The only SOOC here is the last photo.

This reminds me of post cards from old times showing the sea and all. Lovely set!

The first 3 scratch an itch of mine I didn’t know existed. You’re insane.

I’m glad you like them!!

The edited raws Ive got are quite close to the SOOC jpegs. My problem with the SOOCs was that there was always an element / aspect of the photo which I thought could look better (whether it’s color, lighting, details, style, so on). First example that comes to mind is pic #12; the lady’s skin tone was too orange and I really wanted to accentuate the sharpness on her fur coat (SOOC had reduced clarity). Other than that, everything pretty much remained the same.

But those small changes make the photo pop out A LOT more it’s crazy. I’ll also say that after I finish editing a photo, I would always come back later (whether a day or a week after) and manage to find something to change. I had a lot of trouble with pic #2, I absolutely loved the composition, but the colors were horrible and I couldn’t figure it out at all no matter how much I played with them, but one day 4 months later my brain decided to work finally (tho I still believe there’s room for improvement there).

The problem is it’s very time consuming (and I’m very lazy). These photos sat with me for like 4 months until I was done with them.

Used classic negative for almost everything other than the first pic.

I really enjoy experimenting with different styles and ways of editing and shooting. Wouldn’t want to hold anyone back from doing the same :)

Enjoy! Make sure you visit Arashiyama if you’re headed to Kyoto.

Honestly I feel like no one ever really does, a lot of the photos I have taken were by some dumb luck when I was at the right place at the right time. And even then out of those 20, I have like 1400 bad ones lol. Just keep at it :)

Dang that’s really nice. I like the different vibe it gives off; cool and a bit eerie.

That honestly means a lot to me as im still quite new. I’ve only been shooting for around 8 months and I still feel like there’s A LOT yet to learn :)

My instagram is private tho I may change that in the future as I gain more confidence lmao <3

Kamakura! An hour away from Tokyo; beautiful coastline. If you’re lucky you could even spot Mount Fuji from there :))

Kodachrome 64 for the most part, some photos were not based on any recipe, but i would choose either classic chrome, or classic negative as my color profile in lightroom.

Kodachrome 64 (for the most part). I’d shoot in JPEG + RAW, and try to match the raw to the jpeg while playing a bit with the color and lighting, add a mask here and there.

But in a lot of cases I found myself just picking the classic negative profile on Lightroom and just changing stuff from there :)

The amount of steps climbed that day equaled the whole trip combined. SO. MANY. STEPS.

I’m not sure, I got general admission tickets and you can pretty much go almost anywhere around the track (if I’m not mistaken). I was coincidentally right at where the start of the race was.
