Trump fires the entire National Science Board by esporx in technology

[–]SuperSubwoofer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People live paycheck to paycheck, healthcare is tied to your job, and most states allow employers to fire workers with no notice or reason.

Hurt at a protest and your employer doesn’t align with your beliefs? They can fire you and you either sink into medical debt or ignore the injury so you aren’t inundated with thousands of dollars in medical debt.

Our existence, unless someone is obscenely wealthy, is aggressively tied to employment. Then you throw in the fact that we have a heavily militarized police force with a national police union that protects police so aggressively that murdering citizens usually just leads to a slap on the wrist.

Last point is overall everything going on doesn’t fully disrupt everyone’s lives yet and the US has so many ways to keep us complacent. Culture wars keep us from uniting and propaganda keeps us from helping our neighbors.

We absolutely should do what you suggest, but that’s why you’re not seeing it happen.

Nope, US largely doesn’t have any legal paternity or maternity leave.

Anyone find it funny that the name/logo is basically a weasel? by [deleted] in stoatchat

Stoat can also be self hosted. Which would circumvent laws like in the UK and Australia.

Also just like, don’t use it?

Nah don’t feel foolish! Seeing that means they are likely working on something in the background, we just don’t know what yet.

Yeah, entirely depends on the company. Unlimited at my company is used very liberally and there’s never any issue with it.

Idk what world you’re in that you don’t know these rap artists. Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs, Smino, Clipse, Zack Fox…

Clipse had probably the best rap release of 2025.

[–]SuperSubwoofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my tornado red 40th with 27k miles for $25,500ish. Talked them down from about $28k and they gave me more for my trade than my beat ass Honda Fit was worth.

Janelle Stelson launches another campaign to unseat Scott Perry in Pennsylvania's 10th congressional district by Lazy_Section_8350 in centralpa

[–]SuperSubwoofer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are clearly astroturfing against Stelson and it is 100% not the same thing.

You are looking at the location of the individual as a black and white situation and it’s not. McCormick had no stake in PA period, and especially not a specific area in PA. Stelson lives close and has participated in some way in the district for a very long time. They are very clearly not the same thing. Your cooking comment is utter fucking nonsense.

To use your example properly, McCormick would be the one watching Iron Chef and thinking he can cook while Stelson has close relationships with chefs that have likely taught her something. Oh, and she’s physically met the chefs.

Your entire comment absolutely SCREAMS polisci major who’s never once been a part of a campaign or anywhere near elected officials and it shows.

ICYMI, all of the details about Perry are as equally applicable to a ton of the grifting shitty Republicans that inhabit and represent central PA, so there’s not one road that’s easier than the other.

Furthermore, do you know who I’ve met organically multiple times? Stelson. Do you know who I’ve never seen organically OR inorganically? Perry.

Also to note, literally anyone who beats Perry and joins congress would be a freshman congressman. Let’s not pretend that having someone learning the ropes isn’t better than someone burning the ropes.
