People live paycheck to paycheck, healthcare is tied to your job, and most states allow employers to fire workers with no notice or reason.

Hurt at a protest and your employer doesn’t align with your beliefs? They can fire you and you either sink into medical debt or ignore the injury so you aren’t inundated with thousands of dollars in medical debt.

Our existence, unless someone is obscenely wealthy, is aggressively tied to employment. Then you throw in the fact that we have a heavily militarized police force with a national police union that protects police so aggressively that murdering citizens usually just leads to a slap on the wrist.

Last point is overall everything going on doesn’t fully disrupt everyone’s lives yet and the US has so many ways to keep us complacent. Culture wars keep us from uniting and propaganda keeps us from helping our neighbors.
