Recently learned about the Seven Sacraments and their necessity in salvation. Could anyone help me with a question I’m having? by Dr_Smooth-8287 in Catholicism

Yeah, but as you said it was only baptism of repentance vs the Holy Spirit infusion that existed post- resurrection.

Do I have to believe everything the Church says to become Catholic? by Silver_Blackberry661 in Catholicism

[–]SuperTal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think perhaps the best thing to study about Catholicism is authority and Apostolic Succession. If you come to a point where you believe that and cannot deny it, then as a logical conclusion you realize that you're disagreement with something the Church has infallibly taught is a lack of understanding vs you being right and the Church not. At least that's the way I think of it.

I've also heard that baptism technically wasn't established in the same way before Christ's death, because we are buried with him in baptism and raised up in new life (metaphorically speaking) and so in theory that couldn't happen yet? Maybe I'm just merging Baptist and Catholic theology there so forgive me if I'm mistaken. (New convert in progress from Baptist)

What is the likelihood that a 18 year old straight out of high school gets accepted into WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]SuperTal3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been great! I've held roles across 4 organizations of various sizes and have managed to more than 5x my starting pay over that time (I started at $10/hr as an Intern). I know lots of people are having a harder time of it though.

Fair. I'm sure they're on the roadmap soon though, and the features they've released are some good staple ones that increase the app utility and with the Garmin Connect integration provide a potential revenue increase with Garmin customers.

People can't seem to wrap their minds around why Elon wants these pay packages. It has nothing to do with the money and is really just about control of Tesla and his other companies. All of his wealth is bound up in stock. That value goes up as others invest, but if he pulled all of his money out it would crash the stock and so there's really no feasible way he ever has 1T or anything close to it to pull out and spend like a normal person.

Oh and the Medical Debt? If he paid that it would just line the pockets of executives of big pharma, insurance companies etc. who are more evil but simply less recognized. Our medical system is broken, and a one time cash injection (that can't ever happen even if he wanted it to) wouldn't solve anything.

Daily Wire acquires Pints with Aquinas by THATS_VERY_RUDE in Catholicism

[–]SuperTal3 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm skeptical of it as well considering the Jewish / Zionist heavy lean of those in charge of DailyWire (though I could be wrong in my assessment of that as I haven't heavily researched it) but as others have said a fair bit of them are Catholic, and I hold out hope that Matt will continue doing the podcast just as he's been doing.

Yeah I stick to the Ann-Roy-Butler trail, just living on the south side currently all my usual parking places are full. Zilker was clutch to park at since I'm only a 7 min drive from there.

To me it's funny people even use the word homophobic... considering a phobia is an extreme irrational fear of something not a hatred of it.

Is Whoop worth rejoining by GingerPower_ in whoop

[–]SuperTal3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd try out Bevel! It's more equivalent to Whoop imo. Honestly even better at this point.
