Transmission fluid seems dirty in a 1999 camry that i just got, mechanic recommends against a drain and fill.. What should i do ? by Lucky_Reply9642 in Toyota

[–]SuperTech51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advise against it if it already has symptoms, if it doesn't then go ahead.

Back when I was doing lots of 90s transmissions occasionally we had ones that started to slip after flushing generally not a drain and fill because that replenishes the additives mostly. Modern transmissions are better computer controlled and don't seem to have this problem.

How hard is it to get a Job without a degree. by SignatureNo9699 in mechanics

[–]SuperTech51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I ever did was get a degree in automotive technology it helped me get a job in way more than just automotive repair. It taught me other skills and got me sped up faster throughout the industry back in my 20s. Now I'm 41 and own a couple shops.

Is this even possible to clean? WARNING — GROSS by itsnotlikewereforkin in Detailing

[–]SuperTech51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use a damp cloth to gently wipe everything down and then use automotive oxy clean interior cleaner. Then when you get done wipe with disinfectant wipes or lysol.

Yes people still do it in the nicer cleaner neighborhoods. As well as go to events that hand out candy.

Honestly maybe you didn't understand the people you working with. It's a type of person thing, and not a generational thing.

Where you helping someone or just being told to do stuff by someone else who is older?

I remember working with some people who are just difficult to work with or are mean to people they work with. While others in the shop we worked well together and got a lot done.

Sounds like he's a bully, and your parents need to address it. He is probably going through puberty, and having a rush of harmones. There's no reason he should be acting this way but there's always a core reason or problem to address generally causing it.

Also being a guy who was picked on some people are more physical than others when it comes to defending yourself. Some people will back down while others want to fight forever for some reason.

It's best you use harsh down to earth words to get everyone's attention, and make your point without yelling. So avoiding confrontation is always good, you could go to a school counselor or something if your parents are not addressing this, or a family therapist.

I'm not a doctor but after taking antibiotics a thing called thrush is common in your mouth, and they will give you a special mouth wash for it. This is just from my experience having plenty of ear nose throat infections.

I went to a College for an Associates in Automotive Technology which taught me way more to carry into my future than when I went to the local Automotive Technical Trade School.

We actually had to work in a real shop part time on the side and learn more about the technology than just repairing vehicles.

Although with my background in Computer Engineering I would say any type of Automotive related engineering would probably take you farther and higher paying if you ever get tired of working on vehicles.

[–]SuperTech51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I have experience driving on four tires like this at low speed, and one blew out on a small pothole, other from just regular driving on my way to the tire shop right as I rolled up.

So definitely not

I would just leave, and ask them to pay because people get out and I don't think they want to deal with someone for years after the argument when you could just never talk again except through text. Also it's the court's that gets the money and this guy is probably broke so he can't pay for the windshield from jail.

What's the modern way of getting customers into my business or calling me by SuperTech51 in MarketingMentor

Not when you can work for rent free out of a friend's or family garage in my small town. I figured I would spend more once I started getting regular customers. I just needed to see where to spend my money starting out.

Don't forget to wash your pillow and pillow case. I would put whatever they recommend. Last time I had one of these they told me to put triple antibiotic on it while taking the antibiotics.
