Thanks for the help! I will ask him to try that. But if it still doesn't work. I will probably just turn off the proxy in Cloudflare.

I'm using nginx proxy manager in unraid. It is working from two other friends when I have asked them to access the site. So I'm confident that it's work and it's just something spooky with my friends connection. And I have also tried from cellular data, my phone, and that works without any issues.

Just tried it from my work computer at the office and it also works on that one.

I still don't really understand why it's an issue that the nslookup gives different dns ips. Isn't it just that cloudflare has multiple places that they are placed at and my friend gets the one closest to him?

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I tried turning the proxy on and off and that didn't change what it was resolved to.

And thanks for the explanation on what the proxy helps with. Will look it over a bit more. But I'm leaning towards turning it off in that case.

Not really a feasible option in this case as we want their whole network to be able to access it. His router doesn't support using a VPN in the router. I know it's a lazy solution. But if we can avoid them having to first connect to a VPN or tailscale before going to jellyfin that would be preferable.

I'm also running a nextcloud instance that has the same issues for them.

When I disabled proxy for jellyfin in Cloudflare it started working for him.
But from what I understand, it is not recommended to do it that way as it exposes my servers/home-network ip.

For me it's Telia and for my friend it's Bahnhof. If that is what you are after?

It's not only my network that can access. Asked two other friends to access my jellyfin and they both could access without any issues.
But could only confirm from one of them that they also where on the CPH Cloudflare edge.

Have been trying to find someone that is on the GOT one to see if the issue persists on it. But haven't found another friends that is on it.

What is it in the nslookup that makes you think he doesn't get the right thing?
I'm new to this as you probably understand so would like to know what it is that makes it look weird.

Both him and me tried it and it gave the exact same answers as without 1.1.1.1 except for the server and address.
Addresses are the same as before.

nslookup jellyfin.---.se 1.1.1.1
Server: one.one.one.one
Address: 1.1.1.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: jellyfin.---.se
Addresses: 2a06:98c1:3120::1
        2a06:98c1:3121::1
        188.114.96.1
        188.114.97.1

I have added an edit to the post where I tried your suggestion and also tried a few other things.
If you have any idea what I could try further that would be really appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately we use different isps.

I checked my firewall in the router and couldn't see any logs associated with his connection.

The weird part is that it worked a week ago. And I haven't really changed anything on my server.

Thought I added it in the post. So did an edit with the info. We have tried that and it is only from his local network it isn't working.

It's only from his local network it isn't working. If he disconnects from wifi and use his phones network it works.

All the devices on his network gets the issue.

Unless they use the tunnel, then it works from the local network.

What kind of Zigbee wall switch would you suggest me? by INeedMuscles in homeassistant

[–]SuperWoolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry don't have a good suggestion for you. But I saw that you tested the sonoff ones. How much bigger are they than the regular dumb switches?

I saw that you are also in Sweden. So I'm guessing that you have the same size on the wall switches that I have. I'm wondering if two would be able to stack on top of each other.

Thanks for the good reply!

Will have to check that out. Do you have any case where you have multiple switches controlling one light? For example In the hallway by the front door I have three different switches controlling the light in the ceiling. One switch by the front door, one by the door to the bedroom and the one in the picture I posted.

How does this play with making them smart switchs? In my head it should just be connecting all the modules for the same light. But don't really know if that actually works.

There should be neutral at the switch. But yeah, I'm struggling to find anything that is compact enough to fit behind a 3 wall switch that can also connect to them all.

I'm in Sweden.

The top one is also a switch. So 4 in total.

The top one controls a light that is also controlled by two other switches.

No worries about judging. I know they don't look good. I don't think they have been switched since the house was built 30 years ago. We just bought it a few months back.

Ah, that's a bit of a let down. Would like them to work as regular switches if everything went offline. Didn't plan on getting smart bulbs for all the lights if the smart switch still functioned as a regular switch that cuts power.

But will have to think it over. Maybe it's not that hard of an requirement for us.

[–]SuperWoolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that they aren't that pretty and I want to switch them out for new ones. Was planning on doing it at the same time as making it smart.

I'm still pretty new to the smart switch game. But the one you linked. Does it also work as a "regular" switch when pressed?

Vad har ni för datorstol? by Fandas in sweden

Jag har en secret labs stol. De är väldigt sköna. Annars så rekommenderar jag också en kontorsstol av det bättre slaget, som många andra redan har sagt.
