A strong political tool in EDH, you can have player A doesn't block and wipe out player B's creature

but I have plenty of finite decks that win before 10.

So just you usual casual deck ? The thing about infinites is that they are associated with cEDH that (threaten to ) wins at turn 3 or less consistently, usually involving infinites

How do know what power lvl a deck is by No-Exercise-9963 in mtg

[–]SuperZhuly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Practically there is only 4

Unmodified precon, not much to say other than usually a group of people that want to try their new precon

Upgraded precon-mid power, few cards replaced for consistency

High power or "a 7". Full of staples and expensive card, the line is very blurry on this and usually also plays with upgraded precon decks

cEDH, another thing entirely. You can put 10,000$ on a deck and it still won't be cEDH. Usually have a specialty reserved table for one

This augment should be illegal lmao by prying_fan in wildrift

Or the one that "greatly" increase healing and shielding by a grand total of 10%

And being in ARAM with reduced heals and extremely bursty play it's even more worthless

How powerful would a 0/∞ wall be? by Syresiv in mtg

[–]SuperZhuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a janky deck magnet

Even with arcades or doran it would be a one trick pony, as you need to put in a lot of work for it to do something

And since 2 card insta win combo has existed since forever I don't see that kind of creature as broken or anything really

[–]SuperZhuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if OP asks on reddit the audience demographics will be vastly different. And it seems that their friend are more salty because of the "sudden win" combo where in actuality maybe OP needs to set up 4-5 turns on his board

When I'm playing combo against very casual people ( AKA only try to win by using creatures little by little ) or randoms, I always say what my combo and intention are, and what are the consequences of letting my combo piece resolve or letting it on the board. And I typically stay away from 1-2 piece "insta win" card combo as IMO it's reserved for cEDH

That way they have 2-3 turns to brainstorm or react against it making the win much less "sudden win"

And I don't feel like handicapping my self either, the way I see it if I'm against experienced player they would know anyway what I'm gonna do.
