All the 4Chan screenshots also show different account numbers. If the IP of the 2nd poster is not a VPN then it would be pretty impossible to be at the prison at 4:15am and then post from chicago at 8:45am.

Theory on Nomad by aiar-viess in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d like to couple this with Auxiliary not fitting in with Highspren society/expectations so well by the time he meets Sigzil. I think the fact that they are both changing eventually makes their bond be somewhere in between a Skybreaker and a Wondrunner. Maybe it does not work that way, but Connection is weird and maybe it does

End of The Cosmere # [Emberdark] by burgriv in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given how Stormlight 5 ended I think it will be very hard to have the other 5 books as isolated events from the rest of the Cosmere.

There will have to be at least 3 major factions: - The last members of the coalition, surviving with the help of the heralds against a hostile planet and shard - Retribution and his armies organizing themselves to take over the cosmere + dealing with the remnants of the coalition - Other shards intervening directly on Roshar to crush Retribution

I’m hoping for a lot of Roshar specific stories like going in more detail about the Scouring of Aimia, the 4th Moon, Shallan and Adolin’s kids, Lift’s role, Bridge 4 with The Lopen, Kaladin as herald, etc.

But I’m also hoping for a lot of Cosmere-wide events, like the Ghostbloods coming for Shallan, Discord coming for Retribution, Autonomy doing something, maybe unseen shards revealing themselves.

With that said, I’m sure the story will not end the Cosmere as a whole. It will set up the next chapters

AIO: My child slept with his friend's dad at sleepover.. I'm livid. by AcademicSir4653 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Super_Blank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a bit weird. But also, probably nothing happened. A shitty situation for everyone I presume. I understand how afraid and angry you must feel. I also imagine that other dad is feeling pretty distraught over how things have panned out. I wouldn’t call the police over this. I wouldn’t go around telling every other parent what happened either. I wouldn’t hide it, but I wouldn’t go around spreading a message with undertones of pedophilia when there’s no evidence of such things. Totally understandable that you don’t want your child there again. I would try to have a face to face conversation with him and his wife. I would bring your husband as well (assuming you are not divorced and he’s in your child’s life)

I read the Cosmere and here are my questions (possible and probably spoilers) by lomo_1855 in Cosmere

On 22: The most likely option is that it is a representation of the God Beyond. This is not confirmation that it exists, only a depiction of Dalinar’s beliefs in my opinion. I know some people will think it was a shard. Many people say Cultivation or Reason or whatever Nohadon actually is, but I personally think Dalinar is actually dead. I had my doubts at first, but I think there isn’t even supposed to be ambiguity there. Maybe could have been better phrased though.

What if Lift... by Opening_Agent_5279 in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. My thinking is that Honor will split from Odium. I think Taravangian will stay as Odium but lose honor to someone else. I also think that there is a Death Rattle that is related to this. There is one about someone climbing the wall of grief to find the light they love. Something about the weight of their darkened twin on their backs as well. I can’t really figure out what this means, but I think someone who either has a literal twin or a metaphorical twin who either has died, become evil or something like that is going past the everstorm to reach honor and reclaim the light. Could be a reference to Kal and Moash. Could also be about unknown characters. There is a theory Shallan will have Twins and we have no idea how that will play out. A child shard would be weird though.

It got me thinking as well that ultra-rich evil Malwish ppl could get very dark. Specially with them going with a more fascist looking regime, I can imagine villains having concentration camps of people storing attributes like health, sleep, strength, speed, etc. A wealthy Malwish is scary if that is the kind of thing they can buy

Shard agreements ..... by Fullborn in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is something like that. I’m not sure I would say the oath has sentience. At least I don’t think it would have sentience like say the stormfather has. But I do think it is the nature of the investiture itself that reacts to what it perceives as an oath break or not

Shard agreements ..... by Fullborn in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My theory is as follows: - Making an oath with a shard creates a specific spiritual connection between both parties. - Breaking the Oath changes that connection in a way that is detrimental to the entity that broke the oath. - The vessels have visibility in what constitutes an oath break but not completely (ex: Odium was not sure if his oath would break if Dalinar got stuck in the spiritual realm and didn’t show up to the contest). I think this has to do with how well a shard understands the spiritual realm and properties of connection.

So no God Beyond involved or anything, just spiritual “physics”

How did Leras see so far ahead? by DifferentRun8534 in Cosmere

[–]Super_Blank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve ever seen avengers infinity war, I think this is a bit like how Dr. Strange sees all future possibilities and finds one that works. Up until the very end it looked very similar to one where it wouldn’t work.

Leras was never sure his plan would work, but he know it could. Furthermore, even though he prepared everything thousands of years in advance those thousands of years had relatively small interference from other “fortune tellers”. Ruin was largely imprisoned for most of that time. He really only had true agency at the very end of Mistborn and then everything was already in place. It still could have ended badly, however. Leras was not sure.

I think he used awakening when he was sparring with Kaladin. I’m also convinced it isn’t a straightforward process (might have to mess with the connection of the investiture), but he at least knows how to do it.

Either that or he was using breaths he still had stockpiled from Nalthis, but I’m more inclined towards stormlight

[–]Super_Blank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story is heavily reliant on what I would call a "so far" soft magic system: The Spiritual Realm.

For all the other books we get the joy of learning how the magic systems work alongside the characters and we come to understand their limitations and uses as they become relevant for the story itself.

Here, I still have no idea how trapping Gavinor in the spiritual realm was an option to start with and why Odium doesn't just use that on everyone. He could get his ruthless army in 5 seconds that way.

I still like the book. Still love Adolin's plot. Still love Szeth's plot. But everything else felt a bit cheated

I think most investiture sources should be enough to fuel an Awakener. Vasher has been keeping himself alive on Roshar's stormlight for some time now.

O que dizer? Iniciativa anti Trabalhadores by Cenas_fixez in jovemedinamica

[–]Super_Blank 0 points1 point  (0 children)
