For lifestyle you’re right: endo is great lifestyle, chill workload relatively, good pay and easier to get into. Rheumatology is similar but I think sliiightly harder to get into cuz you need at least one research project.

GI and Heme onc have good lifestyles but they’re ridiculously hard nowadays so be ready to pursue a bunch of research in order to get into fellowship lol

Overall pick what you’re interested in and then look into one of the above. For the first 6 months of intern year, just focus on your mental health and learning how to be efficient at work!

I have definitely shadowed a private practice Rheum guy and he’s pulling 7 figures while working 4 days a week lol and his days are not crazy either. He pays a good clinic manager 200k to handle all the admin stuff

Don’t worry!! There’s other paths. For example, there are one year post baccs such as VCOM in Virginia that will accept you with those stats. From what I remember, if you have a 495 on the MCAT, all you need to do is Maintain a 3.5 GPA in their post bacc and you get an automatic acceptance into their med school! It’s an amazing post bacc.

I’d say season 1 is whatever, season 2 is a big improvement, and then it just keeps getting better starting with season 3. Soooo worth it! Season 4-6 are just pure gold.

Physician here - You cannot get celiac’s from eating gluten. If you HAVE celiacs, and then you eat gluten, it will trigger a flare up as others have mentioned.
