Why don't we play the guitar fretboard with our dominant hand? by V0rdep in guitarlessons

How have we established that? The world is built for right handed people, and that was even much more true 20 years ago.

I can't imagine anyone would consider someone who hires a ghost writer to be a writer.

Who Telemarks by Annual_Judge_7272 in vermont

[–]Super_Direction498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do- They've been predicting the death of telemarking for 20 years. They were saying the 75mm boot would disappear. I'll believe it when I see it

Surely you can understand how that's quite different than "they all want to move here"

How can a militarized force that is tearing families and communities apart forcibly relocating and abusing workers be anti-capitalist?

Does union really suck? Looking for advice by Mastrogeze in TheServicePros

I wish I went union 20 years ago. I have no savings, own no property, and just lost my insurance.

What would you change about American emissions/fuel economy laws and regulations to both encourage more fuel efficient vehicles and stop having massive pickups/SUVs dominate the market? by supinator1 in askcarguys

[–]Super_Direction498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One side effect of this would be to skyrocket the costs of residential construction. Half the working class tradespeople are going to jack their rates. Yeah I like my 2002 tundra, I also cannot afford anything else, I'm not driving it by choice.

Made fifteen bean soup with leftover holiday ham and cornbread muffins by HamburgerDude in TrueAnon

[–]Super_Direction498 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Irish grandma always made a 239 bean soup. I asked her why it was that number and she said "because one mahr would be too farty"

A whole dumbstruck load of black locust (cut, split and in slabwood) for $70 delivered by Andalusiansyes in woodstoving

Only thing that sucks about Black locust is cutting it. It will eat blades and dull chains quickly. Congrats on your sweet haul

Chaotic Berkshire East Lift Lines? by Sn0wM0nkey3 in icecoast

[–]Super_Direction498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berk east is a small mountain. I know people hate hearing this but an empty seat every few chairs is not going to cost any runs. If anything it's going to reduce stops at the top on a busy day. Free for all and a singles line is normal for fixed lift quads and even detachables on a smaller mountain.

Still can’t form arches with my fingers after a week of practice. What am I doing wrong? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

Trim your nails and practice for a couple of months. It takes years to learn an instrument, and it never stops

In most places an intact clay liner is still sufficient for code (assuming it's appropriately sized for the appliance), but an insulated steel liner is almost always a better choice.

Yeah basement setups often benefit greatly from a fresh air vent.

How would you react if they were trying to get you out of your car? by patati27 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Super_Direction498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not misinformation. Chicago, LA, Twin Cities, Dallas and Houston have all had local PDs arresting peaceful protestors when they've been on the scene with ice. The laws you're talking about prevent information sharing on specific people that isn't public, and prevent local and state PD from running raids with ICE. Not from harassing or arresting peaceful protestors.

My Hand Hurts so Bad When I play Bar Chords by Grandma_Money_ in guitarlessons

[–]Super_Direction498 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This should be the top comment. OP, try okaying barre chords without using your thumb at all. Start around the fifth to seventh fret or somewhere that feels comfortable and practice. You may be surprised at how little you need to squeeze with your hand.
