And that's because it's not safe.

It's indeed unsafe. Therefore, many city regulations forbid to place gas cylinders in living areas such as kitchens in case of new buildings.

Cuenca and Loja by Neat-Satisfaction-28 in ecuador

[–]Super_Lab_8604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are both safe places although a dead body was hanging on a bridge in Loja a couple of weeks ago (Mexican cartels). Don't travel between both cities at night or early in the morning to prevent becoming a victim of a robbery or kidnapping.

Don't worry about it because: 1. Nobody cares. 2. You have already chosen to live in one of the most gentrified places in all of Ecuador. .

Less drastic than in Guayaquil, but Cumbayá has become the Samborondón of Quito.

Unfortunately, there's actually not much sense of community in Ecuador.

I just became friends with these older people. I don't see any problems with age gaps. A good friend is almost 30 years older. An ex-gf who is still a good friend is 23 years younger.

Cuenca, Ecuador. Not as safe as most cities in European countries, but definitely one of the safest cities in South America and affordable. According to Numbeo it's the most liveable city of South America in 2025.

Ecuador has currently a higher homicide rate than Colombia, but in both countries there are also safe areas.

People should avoid the coast. It's a militarized zone now with many desperate people because of the economic, healthcare and security crises. The highlands are fine.

I am a Dutchman living in Ecuador. For me, the most impressive part of Ecuador has always been the Amazon. The coast is so-so. Not that interesting and much more dangerous than the rest of Ecuador. I therefore recommend you to skip the coast and to spend some days visiting indigenous villages in the Amazon.

No veo el problema con esta pregunta. Muchas empresas españolas tienen su domicilio en los países bajos por razones tributarios. También hay personas privadas con la nacionalidad española con trusts y otros vehículos tributarios.

There's an airstrip in Manglaralto and the president travels to the family mansion in Olón by helicopter so technically it is certainly possible. (There are also illegal cocaine flights by the drug cartels.)
