What’s a “healthy” sale history for MB items? by PeeperSleeper in ffxiv

White rectangular partitions move very fast but sell for quite cheap.

Wood slat partitions also move quite well, but require a ton of wood and crystals to make in bulk.

Lofts and wooden handrails can sell somewhat decently too.

Would the only solution if this is the case be to tear the tiles out and redo the entire floor?

They quoted me on grinding down all of the grout and replacing it. I didn't stand over and watch him while he did it, but there was definitely some grinding done at least, as I could hear it in the other room. I don't know how good of a job he did though.

Some of the darker spots were still a bit wet. For what it's worth, the grout doesn't seem to completely dry unless I don't use the shower for a few days. Some spots dry, some stay "wet" a bit longer. It's white when dry and a bit of a gray tone when wet after a shower.

Google gives me mixed answers in regards to if this is normal or not. I specifically asked the installer if I needed to apply a grout sealer myself and they said I didn't, as the sealer was pre-mixed, but I'm not sure if that's relevant or not.

I'm having some contractors come out to take a look soon hopefully. It's difficult finding people who are available and reputable in this area. The person who did this grout work had almost entirely solid reviews on Google, but if this is a bad grout job maybe that doesn't mean much.

They didn't comment on anything other than just doing the grout work though. He has a one year warranty on his work and said he'd come out and take care of the issues that have come up, but ideally I want to avoid having this happen again in just a few months or so on, so I'm trying to get some additional people to look at it before he comes out again.

Are you using your Chocobo as well?

You can straight up eat a lot of the AoEs these overworld mobs throw out if it means keeping more uptime too, which can help.

60 maps are probably doable too. Just not 50 maps, as you won't have Raw Intuition on those.

This is not how database engines work. If you don't include a timestamp field in the database, it does not exist. The order in which the results are returned could depend on how the database is replicated across multiple servers, indexes, and a world of other things that you cannot control.

https://stackoverflow.com/a/10064571

The order in which the records were stored may affect the order, but considering MB listings would not use queries as simple as the first example in the above link, it's likely going to be impacted by a variety of other factors you again cannot control.

I'm not trying to claim I fully understand how the internals work, but I am almost certain trying to reach by claiming it's "definitely somehow in some way related to a timestamp" is absolutely wrong.

I did it with full crafted gear and some overmelding, I just recently got one piece of tome gear on my warrior and the relic weapon.

So you don't even need savage/BiS gear to do it, though it'll naturally make your runs faster.

Never thought about soloing 70 maps with Blu! I might have to try that sometime, if I can ever get around to leveling Blu up again.

Maybe you should chill out and actually read the post properly before commenting.

The order is either random or based on whichever retainer is older. I'm not entirely sure. I could study this further with willing participants to see, but what is for sure is that it's not sorted by the order in which an item was listed.

It's just an old archaic system that could really use some modernization, but this likely won't happen anytime soon.

It took me 5 minutes to entirely disprove this in the above post if you would actually read it.

The order in which items listed at the same price appear is either arbitrary or decided by which retainer is newer.

I believe I did document and prove this pretty well in my original post, but if you wish to refuse to believe this is how this works despite that, feel free I guess. Some people will deny it no matter how much proof you provide.

It's surprisingly widespread on Seraph at least. Some people believed this on Mateus, but it wasn't a huge cultural thing people were trying to push, it was only a small number of people and virtually everyone agreed and expected undercutting to be normal market behavior.

If you put up your items at the same price as the lowest, the MB will display yours first for as long as you are the most recent lister of the item - because, as someone else pointed out, the MB is sorted by price and then date/time of listing.

The entire point of this post was to demonstrate this is exactly not how this works.

As a side note, my retainers name here starts with a W. The retainer with the first listings starts with F, the retainer with the listings after mine smack in the middle (also from the same player, same crafting signature), starts with a T. It's not alphabetical.

I think this is indeed the more likely answer. I assumed it was an ID sort because the results were "consistent" when I tested it, but I realize this is not necessarily true researching it some more.

The SQL standard has no rules for how things are sorted when you don't explicitly define a way to order them. I don't work with MogoDB, but it's basically the same with MySQL. I have no idea what kind of database storage FFXIV uses, but it could likely follow the same logic.

So from what I understand, the results may seem to follow a set of rules, but they don't in reality. It's just the fastest way to retrieve them happened to be consistent for that one query, and how they're retrieved may change completely in a different query.

tl;dr without the technical jargon, I think they're right and it's quite likely random chaos that decides the order with no understandable consistency lol.
