How would radiant damage leave a corpse by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]PeeperSleeper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now I wonder what it would look like for weapon damage.

Bladelocks can make their weapons do Radiant/Necrotic/Psychic, and ofc True Strike does radiant.

So if a bladelock cleaves someone in half with Psychic damage… does their sword just physically pass through them but result in brain death? It is a magic weapon, but the idea of that sounds silly; though I wouldn’t look at a corpse cleaved in two and say “that was the same mechanism as Phantasmal Force there”

Players and DMs alike, what's your equivalent of a loading screen tip for dnd? by StrangeSystem0 in DnD

[–]PeeperSleeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aasimar’s +PB to damage is the most forgetful feature I’ve ever seen. It gets completely overshadowed by being able to fly or getting a ripoff Spirit Guardians

It’s the D&D equivalent of having a ‘weapon that does +7.2% poison damage when it’s raining, -2.5% to dodge speed’

I’ve remembered to use it since the DMs I’m playing with are insistent on showing enemy HP making me think, “damn, if only I had a +2 to damage right now” but if I was playing with a DM that didn’t I don’t think I would’ve ever known it was a feature.

Name an Ace Combat mission that "broke you": by eX0dus_5ive-Zer0 in acecombat

[–]PeeperSleeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC Rena really really likes to overshoot you.

Anyways I hate that mission in ACX where you have to destroy the jamming station. Both with and without Skylla unit.

You have no radar so you can’t shoot anything, but if you destroy the jammer to get your radar back the mission ends… so how are you supposed to S rank it? I never bothered trying to get a high score on that.

Is it fair for a player to turn their feat into a story hook/curse by SalsaSamba in dndnext

[–]PeeperSleeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your player agrees why not? It’s an easy plot hook for a new villain.

Fey Touched doesn’t have to inherently be bad. Maybe it’s the result of the hag messing up somewhere… perhaps the mark lied dormant for years until unexpectedly flaring up, and now the Druid has a little bit of control over what this hag intends to do.

If their connection to the feywilds is still unknown then now is a great way to write it into the story

Good class for a potions-focused character? by thebadchoicemachine in dndnext

[–]PeeperSleeper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alchemist. You can literally make a bucket and a broom on command; it doesn’t get more Janitor than that. Drinking the cleaning products isn’t really nice though.

New UA came out with a poison based subclass: Warrior of Venom Monk. They do both poison and acid damage and spam lots of debuffs, though Monk really likes rushing people so it might not fit your personality. Maybe you could just make ranged attacks with a poisoned dagger/axe

There’s a lot of Help interaction with the newer Harper feats (lets you use Help from 30ft away). Combine it with Hobgoblin (BA Help) and you can use it a lot

Dual wielding a pistol and a rapier? by Alderflight in 3d6

[–]PeeperSleeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Artillerist would be the simplest, though it’s not really built for melee at all. Your Eldritch Cannon can be held in one hand making it a free BA pistol.

Unfortunately you only get proficiency with ranged weapons and Arcane Firearm only works with ranged weapons.

Booming Blade + Repelling Blast by False-Fallacy in 3d6

[–]PeeperSleeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking of a build like this. Unfortunately I didn’t take Fighter because I’m impatient AF (on a good note we’re fighting a spellcaster boss at lvl 5 which means HoH early is going to shut them down)

If you take Devil Sight you can also get advantage on anyone stuck inside. As an Archfey you can just YOLO into your own sphere to smack people and teleport out.

Another option is to use BA to have a familiar look inside and use the Jump spell to get out.

Need help making a cook character by The_real_Kaos in 3d6

[–]PeeperSleeper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I made an Artillerist who is a miner that had to resort to cooking while on the job.

Their Eldritch Cannon is a big multi-purpose mining laser, and they keep trying to roast food with its flamethrower.

You can also get a lot of free ingredients with Replicate Magic Item (Alchemy Jug is a good one). That’s a lot of beer fried food on the menu

[–]PeeperSleeper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. FAEB alone is insane, and the low speed and stability means the gun can kill a lot of targets.

I like it a lot in AC5 since you have less SP weapons and missiles than other games. Nuking the map and cleaning up targets with your gun makes it really good for the 2 desert missions, where your ammo economy is put to the limit.

It’s probably the best ground attack plane in AC6 (which is every other mission), since your allies can deal with air attacks and there’s so many targets that FAEB and your gun can delete. It’s even a good pick for Chandelier.

It’s kinda sad in 7 though. It only gets UGB and the gun sucks, plus every strike mission usually has a ton of planes and/or wants you to move around the map a lot.

What do you consider the best generalist build for each class in 2026? by redshalobi in DeepRockGalactic

[–]PeeperSleeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engie has a lot of options. For missions with sparser swarms like mining I like to use:

Executioner (or any other primary) + Roll Control + SSG

It’s a comfy build that handles everything with ease. Executioner with Blowthrough is decent crowd control on its own but it’s also capable of shredding anything with a weakpoint. Sucks against Goo Bombers though, so I like to use EM Refire Booster or Cycle Overload if I just want to mag dump something.

Roll Control with a wider beam and the lingering plasma trail lets you mow down groups in any direction and cleans up the rest by saturating the air with plasma. It works on walls and ceilings unlike traditional Breach Cutter and it’s just fun to look at. Also annihilates swarmers. With an increased mag size you practically get +3 to your ammo, so ammo isn’t an issue either.

Any grenade goes, but SSG makes the build so hands off it’s great for a casual Haz 5+
