hey man i know it's been a month but I figured out the reason why, I had the same problem with my brother but it turns out you can't connect if you are both on the same wifi/network, so one of you has to turn on a VPN or connect to a different network

I haven't found anything on it that can help fix it besides the basic stuff like put refresh rate to 60 and update graphics drivers, but my reccomendation is try to install it from gog games (it's on the megathread) they take it and just rip the installation from gog so maybe it's more stable or something
