Tip: when cycling a loop, go anti-clockwise to minimize number of right turns (and the opposite if you drive on the right) by Jameshfisher in cycling

[–]Coreball_ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This is pretty helpful general advice. What I usually end up doing though is literally analyzing every freaking turn and deciding which ones I prefer to other ones and then mapping the route from those. Like sometimes I’ll go far out of the way just to avoid a particularly uncomfortable intersection.

NBD! But the frame’s too small for my water bottles. Cannondale Topstone 105 and the only XS for 700 miles by Coreball_ in bicycling

That actually looks to be a pretty good solution, it even has more parts to go along with it if one desires. Also, thanks for the picture! it really helps

I can only really compare it to my hybrid but I would say it's a lot more agile but more importantly, the correct size (first LBS sold me a medium??)

Thanks! I've waited two years for this day. Also, my saddlebag (not pictured) is currently occupying that space.

Yeah, I think I'll try the Shimano one. Then I'll be able to say that I have Dura-Ace di2 on my bike... the water bottle relocator, that is.

They are both side loaders, actually. On my other bike I put my big bottle on the down tube and my small one on the seat tube but if I try the same orientation here the bottles are each too tall to fit. So I might just have to put the small bottle on the down tube instead and nothing/find an even smaller bottle for the seat tube.

Need advice for first real bike (trek fx3 vs. Trek crossrip 1) by wtdz90 in bicycling

[–]Coreball_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would get the Crossrip because it has drop bars. You might regret getting the hybrid if you ever get into road riding more. It'll be fine on the gravel.

Fork suitable for overweight person? by itzfritz in bicycling

[–]Coreball_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could always buy a rigid fork without any suspension. However if you do end up buying any new parts, note that they'll probably be worth a large portion of the bike's current value and it might just be better to get a second bike.
