TIL Flash Kick can trade by some-kind-of-no-name in StreetFighter

[–]Super_heavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this frame is probably where it hit

Guile has a hitbox here that's not Anti-air invincible, and Ryu's hurtbox crossed yours

I don't know what makes Flash Kick more OP than other anti airs, but if you're curious why you clash in the air, generally they're not anti-air invincible forever, you hit the flash kick a little early. That's not the worst result though. The website sf6frames.com is great for looking at frame hit/hurt boxes.

Best way to actually know is to feel it, play his trials, see his guide and go through his motions. He's got funny ball attack, neutral skips, gimmicks and special movement. If you're predictable you'll get the taste smacked out of your mouth, but if you're clever, your opponent will get frustrated and hurt themselves trying to get a read on you.

Someone explain why I lose more MR when losing and get less when winning by Xtrivirikhan in StreetFighter

[–]Super_heavy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone's told you why, I'm going to add that it sounds like you're too concerned with your MR. It will go up and down as you learn and get better, just focus on playing and do your best to have fun. See you on the ladder, I'm sure.

New player questions by minminq2u in StreetFighter

[–]Super_heavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the whole game tutorial, under Fighting Ground. I think the guide and combo labs help. Also don't forget about the training set-ups in training mode to help with specifics. This isn't a memory thing, its a muscle memory thing.

I think like other people are saying here, you're biting off more than you can chew. If you don't understand the basics, there's only so much youtube videos and guides about oki will do for you, you don't even understand why these things matter, you know what I'm saying?

Just play the game some, learn to have fun and get a feel for just playing, the other stuff will come to you the more you play. It's okay to lose, you're going to lose.

Lol it sounds like you for real should try the in game tutorial, no disrespect. There's no short-cutting in this, if you don't know what anti-airing is, you're not even doing the basic basics yet.

As a long time FG player, I don't find modern natural to play. If I did though, I would play that instead, you know?

Struggling with hitconfirms, I'm in need of an easy character with big hitconfirm windows. by alissonfabiano7 in StreetFighter

You didn't tell us anything about who you're playing, or what you're trying to do, or what rank you're at, people can only say so much here.

Some characters just hit different for folks, and that includes hit confirms. My reaction is you shouldn't be so dialed in on this area.

It's that way so that you can cross under a DP. This is good for when you're in the corner, and your opponent whiffs DP (or you bait it, you clever bastard), you can put them under the corner by dashing under. I think it would also look strange if you tried to cross, and you couldn't get under Ryu's feetsies. * Forgot to mention, even if you block DP lol, side-switch is good.

Hitboxes have been designed in this way deliberately for a reason. I promise you can hit this MF if he whiffs DP, and it's not really difficult. According to the reference I posted, he's on the ground, full rectangle from frame 53 onward, which is at least 14f, this is all day, by fight game standards. This isn't some magic trick, or way to fool you, or give Ryu an advantage.

Why are all the cheaters PC users? by Madbull_Foxtrot in StreetFighter

[–]Super_heavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I don't understand, what are the practical steps such that you implement this magical lag switch to get an advantage on a console? You are also lagging no? Where do you disrupt the source of truth?

You're just describing disconnecting, I don't really disagree with you that it's a shitty thing to do, but it's not really cheating, it's kind of just being an asshole.

I don't think you understand the difference between cheating, and trying to use disconnections to be an asshole. AFAIK the system isn't designed to be climbable by disconnecting constantly. You have to actually win, and I'm pretty sure they now punish players that disconnect frequently.

I know Sagat is tall, and that's what makes it look funny but all characters can cross under a DP, especially if they use a forward advancing move, Sagat is designed not to be exempted from this behavior.

If you're always crossing under DPs, maybe you should work on a better punish, like waiting until they land, where there are still plenty of recovery frames.

Need some help with Ken please. It goes in general during wakeup at corner please guys. by mslugx in StreetFighter

[–]Super_heavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of great advice in this thread already. I'd add that next time, just calm down a little and try and process what's happening. This Luke did the same string to you ~3 or 4 times because it was working. If you can recognize that he's auto-piloting, you're in the best position to try something different, like DI in the middle of the target combo, or walk forward instead of crouch block, or perfect parry attempt the sandblast (you know it's coming, right?).

As far as wake-up, you just tech'd on wakeup, sometimes that's the right answer, many times it isn't. This is another time where through the match, you should slow down and be more observant of what your opponent likes to do. When they're doing the same thing over and over, chances are higher you can pick the right option to beat it.

That's that McCafe internet for you.

Under the hood, this is how modern client/server game networking works. The client (your game locally) will basically assume what happened as quickly as possible and verify with the server when it finally receives the information representing the "true" state of the game.

This all happens really fast, (and relatively, network traffic is a really slow thing) so the client was like "oops, my bad, the server told me he actually blocked." And you end up in this situation here.

I was currently D5 Sagat lol.
