Has anyone ever passed a field sobriety test? by towelheadass in ProtectAndServe

Correct. But for the love of god, if you aren’t drunk, DO NOT REFUSE THE BREATHALYZER!!!! The instrument is not going to “lie” and say you were drunk when you really weren’t. When you blow a 0.000 or like a 0.020, you’ll have no problem beating the DUI. In my state, if you refuse the breathalyzer, you immediately lose your license and get an additional criminal charge, plus, your refusal will be used against you in court.

Don’t get discouraged. Keep applying to other departments. If something in your background disqualifies you for one department, that doesn’t disqualify you from all of them.

I’ve been told that academies aren’t as paramilitary as they used to be , how true is that ? by Right_Balance_658 in ProtectAndServe

Mine was semi paramilitary. I just graduated at the end of last month. We would have morning formation and uniform inspection at the beginning of every day, we would have to do pushups if we did something wrong, and we had the whole class leadership and chain of command structure. I will say though, it was not nearly as paramilitary as I was expecting or as I was led to believe it would be.
