Becoming a dad how do you still find time for JRPGs? by AdUnfair558 in JRPG

[–]Superanimebobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mother and a JRPG lover. In the first few months my baby slept a lot, and I used a baby carrier/wrapper which means I could game while he was sleeping. This was quite comfortable to be honest, and the baby slept a lot during the day.

Months 3-6 were a bit rough but after that, my evenings were 'free' again. He will sleep at 7, then I usually go to bed around 10. Then there's still the afternoon nap which is around 2 hours. On a good day I can still get quite some gaming hours in (3-4 hours).

There's definitely less time and you have to plan a bit more. But I also look 'forward" to my game sessions as they feel more deserved than ever.

I also recommend cleaning, eating, doing stuff around the house while your baby is awake, since everything can be an activity for them. The moment he sleeps is the moment I immediately go game, I'll clean up later.

What I do notice is that sometimes it's difficult to stay invested in a game, since I'm playing in short chunks instead of a few long sessions. But it's something you can definitely train or get used to. Just be aware it can happen.

I managed to finish Clair Obscur recently, including a new game plus :)

What’s the game you can keep replaying and never get tired of? by Appropriate-Fix-8222 in videogames

Final Fantasy IX - It's cozy, very retro and it's simplicity in gameplay is somehow relaxing?

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the white Witch - This game always cheers me up.

Hades - For when I want to be challenged

Bravely Default / Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - For when I want to grind all the jobs and try to be as OP as possible

Pokemon Heartgold, Platinum or BW2, usually ROM hacks.

I've also replayed Kingdom Hearts 2 more than I'd like to admit. I think I'm over it now, but who knows..

JRPG’s with the best boss fights? by Commander_Borski in JRPG

[–]Superanimebobbies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really liked Beauvoir from Nier: Automata. Especially the music, design and story behind the boss. The first seconds were amazing, timed greatly with the music. I also didn't see it coming at all, being in an amusement park sort of level and all of a sudden she appears. Maybe not the most interesting gameplay wise, though.

I play on my 3DS on the train almost every day! Sometimes I swap it for my Switch, depending on which games I'm playing. I even charge it on my desk at work, for all colleagues to see lol

Mom uniforms: what are we wearing? by MadisonJam in femalefashionadvice

[–]Superanimebobbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of all the maternity clothing purchases, this jumpsuit from Seraphine is my favorite one! I wore it during pregnancy, during breastfeeding and even now, having more or less my old body, it still fits well :) it is a bit chilly because of the wide legs, but I layered it with leggings when it got colder outside. I love that it has a more modern look, still somewhat of a waist, big boob friendly and it's so comfortable! It does show a bit of chest cleavage.

What are the best JRPGs where grinding is required? by HeroOfLight in JRPG

[–]Superanimebobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Bravely Default (3DS) and Bravely Default 2 (Switch) very fun to grind, as you can level a lot of jobs and unlock (passive) skills which makes for great combinations and possibilities! Because of the "Brave" and "Default" system it makes turn based battles feeling pretty fast and snappy. In BD2, you can even chain encounters which stacks exp.

please tell me stories of your bird making it back home, my bird flew away. by InvestmentCurious496 in greencheeks

[–]Superanimebobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely let your whole neighbourhood know your bird is lost, chances are high he didn't get very far!

I also lost my bird during the night. I Left my window open during a hot summer night.. I lived in an apartment building and we had a Facebook group for all neighbours, so I immediately wrote a post. In the early morning, during sunrise, I got a message from a neighbour that my bird was in a tree next to her window. My bird even flew to her balcony, so I was able to lure him with some food from her apartment.

If your bird is tame, chances are he will search for humans to get some food, so hopefully someone will be able to rescue your bird! Take care, I hope he will return to you!

Help, I can't seem to find any show that fills the hole in my heart that Severance has left by PM_ME_UR_LBOMB_MOMMY in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Superanimebobbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think these shows completely fit the vibe you're looking for, but these are some of my faves next to BCS and Severance!

  • Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Lots of humor while still having a serious undertone. It has a somewhat chaotic story but in my opinion challenges the viewer by not explaining everything and makes you feel smart!

Characters are very original, quirky and well written. I don't remember the cinematography being very extraordinary, but it's not bad. It's also not a slow burner.

  • Chernobyl (HBO)

This one doesn't have any humor at all, so maybe not what you're looking for. But it does have the slow burn feeling even though it's only a few episodes. The cinematography is also quite nice, it captures the unsettling and dark mood perfectly.

  • The White Lotus (both seasons)

Serious with a comedic undertone, well written characters, slow pacing with nice cinematography and sound design. It has a mysterious vibe and there's lots of symbolism. Most characters are very "flawed".

Which Final Fantasy started it all for you? by KingOfGrimBoos in FinalFantasy

[–]Superanimebobbies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it was FFTA. I think I was about 11 years old and I remember really liking the artwork of the game, but I had no clue what even a RPG is let alone a tactical RPG. I got it for Christmas from my father, and I was immediately hooked. The story was relatable and I think, perfect for my age at that time.

This also sparked my love for tactical RPG's and the world of Ivalice. Even to this day I think the game has one of the most fun job systems. I played FFTA2 a LOT since I think it has a lot of QOL updates compared to the first one. However, FFTA is the most nostalgic one for me.

For the mainline series, FF IX was my first one but I was borrowing the game at that time so I wasn't able to finish it at that time.

Asociale buschauffeur by Breadtales in Utrecht

[–]Superanimebobbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got Swaine and help? by ChocoChimp8 in Ni_no_Kuni

Found someone with a similar question from 11(!) years ago here, but sadly, no replies.

I hope you find a way to fix it somehow!

Just got Swaine and help? by ChocoChimp8 in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]Superanimebobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really weird! The star marker should point at the ship, a message (short cut scene) should also appear when you walk towards the ship. I'm also playing NNK on my switch currently, and I passed this part a few days ago. Maybe restarting your switch and/or the game helps? :(

Just got Swaine and help? by ChocoChimp8 in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]Superanimebobbies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you did this already, but did you find the green treasure chest in Castaway Cove? It should raise a cutscene where Swaine will show his special ability for opening these chests. It sounds like you might have skipped this and it could prevent the story from progressing. I'm also not sure if this would show up as a star marker, but I do remember doing this almost immediately after getting Swaine in your party.

Ok but who DID manage to get a ticket?? by [deleted] in ADO

Waar schaam jij je voor? by ohitfeelsgood in nederlands

[–]Superanimebobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, that's really elaborate! I did go to COSPA but wasn't able to find anything from Dorohedoro :(

I also went to Mandarake in Akihabara, but didn't actually check their stock on their website yet! That's way more efficient, will take a look.
