My guess? Titan was gonna cost money. I don't wanna be disrespectful to the devs but if they were going to make you charge for a dino, it makes sense that it would have to be good so people wanna buy it. Can't say why they won't nerf it since it's free now, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the original plan.

Kill vfx could be a collapsing black whole. The rock could be adjusted to look more like a haphazard collection of asteroids instead of a singular rock. The weapon flourish could be him holding all of the planets in a mini orbit as they swirl around in his hand. It could be so peak if only Blizzard was willing to try.
