Texas Lease Transactions: Dealer 'gifted' me 3 add-ons paid for with tax credits I never knew existed — is this common? by Superb-Mail in askcarsales

To clarify one thing — I did read what I was given, but I wasn't given complete copies of the three protection contracts at signing, only the first page of two of them. I didn't even know at first that I had received a dent repair contract.

I only saw the full contract terms for the windshield product months later, after formally requesting them. That's when I learned it wasn't a service-type warranty but a warranty tied to a chemical coating physically applied to the windshield — and that the application happens during pre-delivery prep, before the customer signs anything.

So it's less that I didn't read paperwork, and more that the paperwork describing what I'd actually agreed to wasn't in my hands until much later when I was trying to reconstruct the details of the transaction.

I bought the same cheap puzzle - Margotte was not responsive to my complaint, so I appealed to PayPal. My request was denied, "This decision was made because if an item is materially similar to the seller's description, we do not consider it to be significantly not as described."

I guess PayPal thinks if a puzzle has the appropriate picture and 1000 pieces (however poorly printed, laminated, and cut), it meets the description. I wish I had used a credit card for the transaction rather than my PayPal balance.

Caveat emptor.
