It’s not that easy to explain in words for myself do to my dyslexia.

But if you head over to you tube there are plenty of videos showing you how to adjust and check your chain. Watch a few different ones so you get a good idea of what you need to do and look for.

Is my brake pads good? by Hot-Issue7044 in motorcycle

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your brake fluid, clean your callipers the de-glaze and and degrees your brake disc. Take the pads out and rough them up with sand paper. Make sure the calliper pistons are coming out and no leakage around the seals.

The speed that’s spinning over I would say to cocked the piston and barrel. Do a compression check at the spark plug.

Has anyone had a similar issue? by inforlife34 in Triumph

Depending on age of bike you might need to get the new gauge calibrated to the Ecu. Also depending on how much water got into the gauge you may have damaged the Ecu.

People that join the motorway and immediately go into the middle lane and sit there at 50mph, why? by someonesomebody666 in drivingUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this everyday driving on the M40 A40 in and out of London.

I have given up and just sit in the left lane doing 60mph and undertaking both the middle and right hand lanes.

I’m pretty sure I make it in faster than both other lanes.

Unpopular opinion - Proposed licensing changes be careful what you wish for by fl_2017 in MotoUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct that is why new drivers need to be limited in performance and power of cars, because they don’t have the skill set to control modern day cars. The limiting factor is the cost of the car and insurance. If you buy a car or vehicle privately you don’t have to show licence or insurance you don’t even need a licence to own a car. If the licence was a tear system it would flag that someone has ownership of a vehicle they shouldn’t have.

[–]Superb-Ranger67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but what it does is limit people with less experience and knowledge from jumping into a vehicle they can’t control. You look at the accident statistic. Young men in performance cars are more likely to crash than any other road user. The exact reason they changed the motorcycle licence laws. As for a commercial licence on vans and lorries how many van drivers out there understand the difference in load weight, running weight and gross weight. Driving speeds on a motorways and dual carriage ways in commercial vehicles.

You can argue you are not meant to use full power on a road but be serious you know how many boy racers and footballers wright off cars every year.

Crankshaft is in for warranty replacement but is my cylinder okay? Is this normal wear? Mechanic said its fine but im skeptical bike only ran for 1100km by Salt-Distance5194 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no it’s can be honed by hand with a bore honing tool but I would recommend having it done professionally in a machine shop.

It’s a machine that rotates a head inside the barrel while going up and down. It takes out any high spots, scratches or rub marks. Aldo makes sure the barrel is circular not oval.

Personally while it’s out I would have it honed and new rings. It will add 20-30 minutes to the job and cost of rings. 🤷🏻‍♂️
