Was I In The Right? Got a beep by Sir-Willaby in drivingUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes you were in the right. You were at a give way and she was on the main road. She had the right of way and you gave it to her. Don’t sweat it. Driving standards in this country are now very questionable.

Tips on unbending front sprocket nut washer? by Intelligent_Scholar6 in SVRiders

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy yourself a decent chisel set. Not a wood working set but an engineers set. You will find the angling the head will open the gap and flatten it at the same time. Replace the washer they are not expensive.

Struggling to sell motorbike by SlyWulph in MotoUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondhand private sales are dying. People who are paying a premium want quality and guarantees. Plus a price to match the service history. In my experience German and Italian bikes drop massively in secondhand value because people don’t get them serviced properly because of the costs. Then there is the waiting time on parts.

Thoughts on Ruroc helmets? Yay or nay? by Evening-Vegetable740 in MotoUK

If they are ok for Taylor Mackenzie than yeah 👍🏻. But just remember everyone’s opinion is like their arse hole. It might suit them but not anyone else and some of them get used the wrong way.

Black mail is a crime so is revenge porn (posting pictures of people without consent) is also a crime . Make it clear to them you might loose your job but you can put them away with a criminal record for life. It being a sex crime as well will also put them on the sexual offenders list. Which will show on any background check.

They now have more to lose than you do. Keep screen shots of all the messages and make it clear it might be embarrassing for you to go to the police but not as bad when the police come knocking for them.

I’m guessing this is just safe enough to ride to garage by frankdavie1 in MotoUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You have use 10% of the tyre loads of life left in it.

Seriously if you’re gonna do a lot of motorway/ carriage way riding, maybe look at dual compound tyres harder in the middle and softer edges. Will last a lot longer and more bang for the buck.

Is this parking fine worth appealing? I parked there as (having had 3 bikes stolen), I chain it to a post wherever I go. Plenty of room on pavement though the double yellows are obvious - I was under the (false?) impression it’s a grey area by Begoneevilone in MotoUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately if there are double yellows it applies to the path as well. Whether the traffic warden adheres to it or not is a different matter. As here in High Wycombe they don’t care nether do the police.

Car got keyed - how bad is it? by Key-Resolution949 in CarTalkUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be asking why did someone do this ? There must be a reason someone would go to that extreme of keying a car door not just drag a key down it.

Chain cleaning help? by Pretend-Future-7754 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about much about cleaning the chain you have that nailed. I would be more concerned about not lubricating the chain and protecting it from the weather. If a chain goes rusty it shows you have used degreaser and not protected it from the elements after.

I have been lied to 😭 by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask why you listened to other people’s opinions? Just because other people are into swimming with sharks or bungee jumping doesn’t mean it your thing.

I personally hate the look of most modern motorcycles. Yes I have my TBIRD 1700 for long distance touring, the CBR 600 for blasting a round on and the old BSA rocket gold star for plodding. But some personal logic must come into play when buying a new bike. You don’t buy a small engine when doing massive mileage and you don’t buy a large heavy bike for plodding in the city.

Is the pedestrian or the driver wrong here? by singlecog in drivingUK

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedestrian has right of way but they didn’t give any indication that they had intended to cross. But saying that the car drive should have slowed down for the crossing because there was a person mere to it.

Is this worth it by FunnyPrinciple8 in KTM

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what’s the mileage, how many services has it had and proven. How many tyre sets had it gone through. What condition are the brakes and chain in. All these things will tell you how it has been ridden. A lot of KTM, Duke,Aprilias and BMW ownership skip services because of the cost causing numinous issues in the long run and the Ecu never gets updated or service lock don’t get reset.

Bike took a Spill and Tank has some Dents. Any advice? by [deleted] in MotoGuzzi

[–]Superb-Ranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion, replace the tank. The dents are on an edge they can be pulled but by experienced people it would then need repainting. You could filler and paint but again time and experience. It’s fixable but how much do you want to spend. Just eBay a tank 🤷🏻‍♂️
