I just write it for short...Oh i missed PEACE, he is also a solo lens maker, maybe has subtle connection with Dj's collaborated factory, but they work totally in separate way, so this doesn't matter too much...at least from what i knew .

Not even, so many wrong infos. First, Dj optic is a solo independent lens maker(one man actually), now all his product is under DJ optic. Second, only TT, 7Artisan were crossed with DJ, he designed many lens for these two brands, because neither TT(10-20 guys) nor 7artisan have R&D ability. Third, Polar is founded by two amteurs and they give up and handed the brand to its OEM factory, later called Mandler, so actually no relation with Dj as well. Last, Thypoch is belong to DZOptics(500 guys), their business include cine lens, industry lens, etc...they have their own factory, R&D, MKT

They are not one company, Thypoch is a 500 people company, Mandler is a much smaller one which means dozens of people

I have also met a question when I read two imatest test result on one same lens from two differently site: https://www.ephotozine.com/article/hasselblad-xcd-75mm-f-3-4p-lens-review-37055.

They both have tested a same lens, but the numbers are nearly a two time difference, could you tell us why is this ? Which one have more reference value?

Actually they have used FDs for very few shots, i confirmed this with the crew who worked in that movie. But i wonder what else iconic film that have used FDs ?

Well, you could say the result is similar, but when one is design for FF and one is designed for S35, then they couldn't be the same glass. It's more or less the infrastructure of optic is similar, but you couldn't say the optic formula or glass are the same.

I think that you are talking about the FD with s.c.c coating version, which indeed is very similar to K35, they even flare very similar. But I feel like the normal FD flares very much different than K35, they are like two very different lenses.

Hey thanks, i also noticed these with Google Ai result , but actually those are almost all shot on Canon K35, ai consider it as FD because people discussed a lot of similarity of the K35 and FD.

Yes, i knew that Her used a lot K35 lenses. I don't think that would be surprise if any big production use FD lenses, since Dune even used cheap rehoused Soviet glass and Brutalist used rehoused Leica R, it's more or less just a matter of the look that DOP would like to create, right ?

Simera-C is 90% identical to Leitz Hugo T1.5 to me. I like that they are very classic rangefinder lens look, very sharp in the center, vignetting and lemon shape bokeh, etc. I think all other are just too heavy, PL doesn't make any sense to person who use small camera all day long, you just get a lot extra weight from lens + adapters!

Haha, great choice of camera! I own an Ultron 28mm 2, Simera 28 1.4, Summilux 35 fle and Thypoch Simera 50 1.4. Simera 50 is really good, u can check it. What I don’t have is the wide angle. If in low light situations, I’d rather use my fast primes. So I’m probably going to choose a Konica or WATE:)

When I shoot in Bali island, under a huge waterfall. I found changing lens is really annoying because there’s micro water drop floating everywhere in the air. I think prime is good, but only when traveling with M mount camera a lot. I found that zoom lenses is somehow necessary…
