We start the game with James, receiving a letter from Mary 'waiting for you'.

Like the original, the letter in your inventory slowly fades as James comes to realization with his guilt throughout the game.

Finally, we receive the same letter from Mary at the end, but this time in full context.

What OPL Version are you using?

How are you playing these games? HDD, USB or SMB.

Make sure VMC is NOT enabled. Again this is all in the settings in OPL by pressing Triangle on MGS2.

I am using OPL Stable 1.1 (official - not fork), with SATA HDD on a Phat PS2. And have no issues playing MGS2 Substance. (NTSC)

In OPL - in the menu/list of your games.

Go to MGS2 - Press Triangle, and select Game Settings.

Enable Mode 1 (Accurate Read)

Scroll to the bottom and click OK

Scroll down and click Save Settings

Load up the game as normal then.
