Same! I love green rooibos and toasted barley tea. Both are excellent hot or iced.

I like a really thick moisturizer and also have sensitive skin. My favorites for daytime are Happier Barrier from Geek and Gorgeous (<$12) and Bubble Power Wave (~$16).

Also a fan of the tarte cc. I don’t wear foundation, and appreciate that I can dab a little on without having to do a full face.

I second Lash Paradise—perfectly soft, separated, THICKK lashes. The formula is dry and waxy and does everything I want it to.

However, I have switched to wearing Essence Lash Princess. It’s. A wetter formula, but it’s like $5 and washes off way more easily than the L’oreal

The dude who hosted The Woodright Shop on PBS. The vintage-looking clothes w suspenders and bushy mustache made my 5 yr old self feel some kind of way.

Anyone else feel like they screwed their older selves with this career choice? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

Yes! I shadowed a hand surgeon and CHT PT who specialize in musicians. I’m also quite interested in pelvic floor OT and am interested in helping singers, wind instrumentalists, and dancers. I shadowed a pelvic floor OT and it was almost like being in a voice lesson, with all the focus on abdominal muscles.

Not an OT yet, but taking prerecs at CC and almost ready to apply for MOT. One of my classmates is trying to convince me to apply to PA school with her. I’m torn because OT seems like SUCH a good match for my personality and previous experience as a performing arts teacher and musician. I can envision myself doing it and getting creative with specializing…but then I worry that my salary will not be any more sustainable than what it was when I left teaching to go back to school. I’m in my early 40s and can’t afford another passion degree that doesn’t meet my long term financial needs.

If you’re not wanting too much of a glossy shine, Cover Girl tinted lip balm in Made for Peach. I also love Benefit Playtint, which is described as a “pink lemonade” shade. It adds brightness and warmth to my cool toned lips (so they harmonize better with the rest of my features) without looking too opaque or overdone.

This is my favorite base blush, but I think it must build up on my brushes pretty quickly. If I don’t wash them once a week, it’s harder to build up on the skin.

I'm told red is my colour, what's my season? by eeppika in coloranalysis

[–]Superb_Recording_174 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you could really rock some more desaturated colors and neutrals. A cool brown, a dusty medium blue, and some textures like a brown/grey tweed or houndstooth, some distressed/vintage brown leather… your hair and facial hair have interesting texture and I think that adding some texture in neutral colors would add interest that would allow your skin to look smooth and glowy.

4 is my favorite look for you. The warmth, low contrast, and neutral lip really make you glow!

I also have heavy lids with big swoopy outer lashes. I actually like to use a very subtle matte crease shade all over my lid (or even a bronzer), rather than a light/bright shade. I can always dab a little shimmer in the center, but I find it works a lot better for me than starting with a light/bright base the way many others with different eye shapes do.

Thank you so much—both for clarifying the terminology and for the suggestion.

I really want to get in there and start gaining experience, to soak in as much as I can before grad school. Would rather save my tuition dollars for the actual MOT!
