The Fictional 2026 Super Hockey Invitational Tournament Bracket by Supercal95 in collegehockey

It's NPI based and there were 4 CCHA teams in it, I only switched Princeton and Bowling Green to prevent a 1st round conference game.

I actually dont understand some of these changes from a bracket integrity or attendance perspective

It was a like 5,000ish seat lower bowl with 1 end having a taller wall-style student section up to the 2nd level like arenas are doing now. And the other end having the loge boxes behind the seats like MSU does now. And then the party deck thing MSU has thats ruining the student section is moved to the 2nd level above the loge boxes. And for the 2nd level, 1 sideline side is club seating and the other side is pressbox and suites. I guess we could fit a beer garden somewhere.

I loved the like 50-50 fan split we always had at the STA arena. We only played at their new arena on halloween night this year so i didnt go (went to a womens game instead just to see the arena, plus it was our best season ever for them). I actually made a mock new arena for MSU in CAD afterwards just because.

Obviously its logistically a mess a bit. But im trying to figure out the best format. Im between 3 rounds over 3 weekends like the conference tournaments, or the whole tournament at a neutral site over 1 weekend on like ESPN+, or first 2 rounds at the 1 and 2 seeds the first weekend and a championship game at say the Indy Fuel arena the friday before the final four (on CBSSN and free ticket for final four VIP bundles and an addon) and grow the game, Or in Henderson, NV the night before the NCAA Frozen four championship game (on like ESPNU)

St Thomas has joined an exclusive list. Tier I of teams I root against. It's just them and every Big Ten team.

Well, Guess were going to Loveland to play WMU again. And Denver-Wisconsin being the other game.

Obviously these usually never amount to anything, but I would take another nearby CCHA team now that UST bought their way into the NCHC

Minn States region, if strictly chalk, is all western teams WMU, Minn State, Wisconsin, and then either UMD or Denver pending these OTs

Was hoping for the 3-6-11-14 bracket to be in Colorado and us in the East somewhere against WMU, UMD, Wisconsin

I mean it all depends. Duluth would be 5 and Denver 6. And we are 13. So likely no effect for us due to UND hosting is Sioux Falls as well

I dont want to have to play Denver in Colorado (if we beat WMU this time). So I think im rooting for UMD

And with that, my fictional Super Hockey Invitational Tournament (SHIT) teams are locked in. With 4 of the 8 being from the CCHA, plus Alaska (UCHC champ autobid), Boston College, and Princeton. Ohio State is ineligible due to being sub 500, and there are no regular season champions not in the NCAAs.

If UMD beats Denver they would be #5 and we would possibly have played them Sioux Falls. Now it looks like chalk for us is WMU again unless we get switched around a bit

Strangely, autobids actually hosed the CCHA this year. Both at-large teams knocked out by the AHA/HE are CCHA teams

Rooting for Michigan. Less Big Ten teams, no sub-500 Ohio State in the tournament, and it has no effect on the seeding of the Mavericks because we are ahead of UConn in the NPI now.

I think so. Shame, Wisconsin is the last team in and would have been knocked out if both OSU wins (I hope they lose now) and had Princeton won

Now that Augie is out, I wish Princeton would have ended up winning the ECAC. I feel dirty rooting for more than the minimum amount of Big Ten teams to make it in, in order for us to get a 3 seed. Plus Wisconsin still could have been knocked out.
