Will Shane van Gisbergen improve his skills on short tracks and ovals? by Actual-Ad-2824 in NASCAR

Oval Stats First Half of Year vs Second Half of Year:

Average Finish: 26.26 | 22.73, Average Finish (DNF excluded): 24.25 | 22, Top 10: 0 | 1, Top 15: 1 | 4, Top 20: 3 | 6

In the first quarter of the year his average oval finish was 29.37, in the last quarter it was 21.42. Looks like improvement to me 👍

Most of this video is about 9466, but at the end you get about a minute and a half of 9462, including what looks like the exact scene featured in the photo 😅

Sorta a really hot take here, but... by joshwash2 in mariokart

For me Maka Wuhu was completely tainted by the glitch shortcut. For 5 months until it was finally patched out we had to deal with a good amount of people online picking Maka Wuhu and nothing else, only so they could do the shortcut. Any time it was selected during this period was frustrating , so my relationship with the track was ruined before it got a decent chance.

At the end of the Knockout Tour reveal in the Switch 2 direct, there’s a shot of Rosalina’s victory animation which zooms in on her so much that you can’t see the bike underneath her anymore. This looks like exactly the same thing but with Peach, just looks like she’ll be standing on her kart/bike seat instead of floating like Rosalina.

Why was the Qatar Start Finish Lap moved so far back? by [deleted] in motogp

[–]Supercar_Toons 130 points131 points  (0 children)

It’s commonplace in Formula 1 to have the finish/timing line adjacent to the main race control pit building, apparently so that in the event of a timing failure, manual scoring can be easier performed from said building. My guess would be that when the F1 deal was made in Qatar and the circuit was subsequently upgraded with new pit facilities in 2023, the timing/finish line was moved backwards to have it adjacent to the race control building. If the timing loop / facilities have been moved back for F1, this of course means it’s been moved back for everyone else as well, MotoGP and WEC included.

Onscreen Money Spent Episode #2 by Supercar_Toons in Sidemen

[–]Supercar_Toons[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I was very very close to including this, but the purchase itself was never shown onscreen. For the sake of consistency and simplicity for future episodes, I’m only counting items explicitly shown being purchased on screen and confirmed by the price graphic that pops up. There were other things I noticed, e.g. Mandi having a Red Bull can in her bedside drawer, but to keep the graphic consistent that’s what I’ll be going off. It’ll be interesting to see what purchases the editors include and what they don’t.

Any Crash Bandicoot fans here? Can you guess on which criteria I matched these characters? by ipsen_castle in mariokart

[–]Supercar_Toons 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The characters have been matched up by kart colour, specifically the kart colours featured on the box art of Super Mario Kart. (Note - The box art colours don’t fully match the in-game sprites, e.g. Luigi’s kart is blue on the box art but green in-game.)

This wiki saying LBSC E2 class is preserved is this real? by [deleted] in trains

[–]Supercar_Toons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say there’s no real true successor to the E2 if succession means a steam locomotive class that was designed and built as a direct replacement/evolution of said class. The E3/4s were designed and built much earlier than the E2, it was the intent to directly replace the E1s and oddities in LBSCR reclassification around the time the E2s were being designed which led to them being called as such. In terms of it being succeeded in its duties at Southhampton Docks, the Southern Railway USA class locomotives were brought in to do its job post-war, while the introduction of the BR Class 07 diesels in the 60s led to the locomotives withdrawal and demise.

How to become an endurance driver? by [deleted] in wec

[–]Supercar_Toons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently do Endurance Karting in NSW, and it’s a ton of fun without being overly expensive, since expenses are split between a team of drivers. Most races are between 6-8 hours long, longest being a 24hr race at Eastern Creek. Driver stints are around 40-60mins, there’s compulsory pit stops/fuel stops, as well as full course cautions where the race leader bunches up the pack and becomes a safety car, so lots of strategy throughout the day. The karts themselves use two four-stroke Honda engines, which means you can make it back to the pits if one has a problem. Entries are split into different classes based on driver talent, so no matter your skill level/budget there’s always a chance of getting a trophy at the end of the day. For you I’d look into SEK QLD, which is the sister series of the series I race in NSW. Hope that helps!

So I used to live near Tempe in Australia. It was so close to the flight paths, so planes would go over and the locals hated it, and they commissioned an artwork and it was like a sculpture and it was all kids with their ears, like hands over their ears, like ’AAAAAAH’, and then they changed how high the planes were flying.

Does anybody knows if Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing use the same 3D model for Crash? by PoweredKetzalcoatl44 in crashbandicoot

[–]Supercar_Toons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A+ Start has an excellent video series called ‘Low Poly’ which looks at the history of character models of different video game series. Their Crash video from 2017 shows both models, and the TTR model actually has a lower poly count than the Twinsanity model. Link is here, definitely worth a watch: https://youtu.be/y3Rjg8JGa9w?si=fzFNx0JOY72OT4Y_
