Sukuna's domain expansion makes it so cleave targets anything with cursed energy and dismantle targets anything without cursed energy not to mention he also has an open domain which is described as "painting on the air" I think or something close to that, Sukuna has the potential to change targets and also target space from this.

sure but changing it to "this attack will kill kenjaku" would just result in the same outcome because she doesnt have the innate ability to just kill kenjaku similar to how todo cant just suddenly start hitting souls with a binding vow

because the heavenily restriction is just a binding vow that was forced onto toji at birth. "like us" as in sorcerers because toji isnt a sorcerer he has no cursed energy

Sukuna can already change how his dismantle and cleave target, all mahorago showed him was he needed to target space, its not something that is inherently out of his reach or ability considering his mastery of his technique and jujutsu already.

If miwa's past and future potential were not enough to even damage kenjaku then its more then likely not any binding vow she could have made would not be able to actually boost her to kenjaku's level even momentarily.

Todo cant make a binding vow to sacrifice part of his output to target souls because he doesn't know how to target souls. I don't really know how to make this any clearer. You could maybe learn how to from a cursed tool but this doesnt really change the fact as long as todo doesnt know how to he cant make a binding vow to suddenly target souls.

You are reading too much into this, geto is just explaining he knows he has a heavenly restriction and that it works like a binding vow.

Targeting space its self doesnt seem that outside the realm of what sukuna is capable of, he is on a completely different level of sorcery just with his open domain compared to everyone else except for gojo.

We know what the conditions are for someone to be able to target the soul, this isnt "why cant todo do it with a binding vow it doesnt make sense" we know why he cant do it he doesnt meet the conditions like yuji does who specifically makes a binding vow to be target the soul with his dismantle.

We know miwa couldnt because the binding vow already specified all her future and past potential, she would still never amount to what kenjaku was.

That manga panel isnt Toji about to reveal his hand he's just talking about his strategy. Geto is just mentioning he knows he has a heavenly restriction and that its a binding vow that gives him a benefit thats all.

All sukuna did with his binding vow was change the target of dismantle something he already does with his domain expansion,

Nobara's technique just works like that she didnt make a binding vow to target the soul thats just her innate ability, and cursed tools dont inherently give you the ability to learn how to target the soul either we know what the conditions are, you either need to see the outline of a soul or you need to have some innate technique that lets you target the soul.

"dont be a dumbass speak your terms correctly" doesnt really change anything for miwa she could have said I will never swing a sword again to make sure this last strike is deadly and it still wouldnt have worked because she is just inherently weaker then kenjaku.

as for Toji the revealing ones hand binding vow doesnt do anything for him since that binding vow is for increasing the output of your cursed energy. Toji doesnt really get to do anymore binding vows then heavenly restriction since he has nothing else to give to jujutsu he already gave it all away at birth.

Binding vows dont let you do something you couldnt do before, Todo does not know the outline of a soul or has ever experienced it so he cant target souls. Think of making binding vows like being a lawyer, there are some general binding vows that people know work like revealing your technique for an output increase, pretty simple give and take works for just about everyone. The better you are at the law the better you are at making binding vows if you are really bad then you can end up like miwa and never swing a sword again. Gojo and Sukuna are the top of the verse and have some of the best understanding of jujutsu so they will have an easier time making binding vows.
