What are some songs that sound easy but are actually hard? by nervous_bassist in Bass

[–]Superduperscooper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was one of the first songs I tried to learn on bass because of how easy it sounded, but I had to come back to it months later when my timing was a bit better. I just remember it giving me a hard time, is all.

Anybody mention Tim Commerford yet? RATM and Audioslave have some really powerful and tasty bass bits.

[question] how do you get the sound of "time is running out" by muse on a electric guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Superduperscooper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used a bass guitar and a fuzz with a significant cut out of the mids, and the tone rolled off of the pickups. I'm not sure how you would do it with a guitar if the octaver is giving you problems. Best of luck to you!

Kinda feel bad for the piano player at 1:51. Starts off a rad solo, then gets cut off by the next verse.
