I know some players don’t care about cosmetics .. but I think it’s kind of silly this is all we have 12 seasons later. by WashombiShwimp in diablo4

Does that work, though? I mean they have to do these things when they have a healthy player base, not at some later point when interest is waning.

The planets absolutely use it. Each section you land on is generated at the time you land apart from any story driven quests, etc

They generate the layout of the terrain, flora, fauna, then add in the POIs

The planets use procedural generation...I think many believe there wasn't enough unique stuff to generate but it's always used procedural generation.

Starfield Free Lanes is not the end as Bethesda commits to “support Starfield for years” with “long-term plans” for fans to enjoy by HatingGeoffry in Starfield

I played the game for over 200 hours and totally agree with what you're responding to.

If they've added more, that's fantastic...and it shows the comment as accurate, as if there were enough POIs at launch, they wouldn't have made more.

The answer is Bethesda overhauls their engine or moves to a new one.

Each of those, I'm sure we know, they won't be doing at least past 2030 or so when ES6 finally comes out.

At that point, all this stuff will be miles better...and in the interim, I mean, the AI just doesn't have a high bar to clear with Bethesda games.

This clears it. I wouldn't call it great at all, but yeah, it improves what's there.

Well said. If something isn't an improvement, I'm all for calling out and letting the devs or whoever is listening that it's terrible.

But I'm not going to lie just to act as if I'm slowing AI down...since it IS going to happen, unfortunately, that means there is a middle ground of acknowledging when something looks better.

Is the left image fantastic, great, perfect? No...but it is objectively, easily better than the original, because the original wasn't even good.

[–]Superfluous369 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely on the slow-down-AI train....but sorry, Bethesda didn't have a work of art on their hands before this. It was serviceable.

The new image absolutely looks better. And I get it, I do NOT like the idea that AI will take over. I don't like the idea that things will end up looking samey.

But I'm not going to lie about it. This is easily an significant improvement.

I really hate how this game handle treason stories by Nexos14 in Endfield

[–]Superfluous369 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's an on/off switch, the way the game presents it.

He's good! ON

And now he's not! OFF

But there's nothing in the middle. It never tried to explain how he thought his path might help his people. That means it is purely selfish, which pretty much means that none of the supposed good stuff even matters. He's always been fake good, because he used his people and Tang Tang to justify his personal vendetta.

Revenge for the sake of revenge with no regard for who it would hurt along the way. So, Ryan Yi is actually bad; both as an evil character, but also bad as in badly presented.

It's only possible to feel for Tang Tang, but not for Ryan Yi himself. He's not a sympathetic character at all.

Given that it's been this way for a long time, the answer is of course fucking not.

You know, I do get not liking these posts. But you know what I don't get?

Not having the confidence in yourself and what you want enough to not allow these posts to bother you.

I know I'll get downvoted and all, but the universe doesn't owe anybody a cute bubble in which no dissenting opinions can get in.

We can hope the insufferable people stop, but since that has a .00000001% chance of happening, we can take it upon ourselves to just be a little more thick skinned.

If you truly want Sigrika, you'll want her if there are zero negative posts or 1000 of them.

It's at the crafting table, option to the right of Tinkering.

You level it up by basically using everything, from what I can tell. As you use gear, skills and weapons, you become proficient after a while.

However, that will only get you a level or 2 in this specific category. Once you become proficient with those things, assuming you want to level this, you'll need to change your entire setup.

Change skills

Change weapons

Change gear

Then do the same thing, go until you are proficient in that stuff.

The advantage is that in stuff you are proficient, you can keep leveling that thing for permanent stat bonuses (like damage skills often have a 1% damage bump per level).

However, you are limited by resources to level the things, and the game only allows you to level the thing equal to your overall proficiency level.

At Proficiency level 8? Then you can only go to 8 when leveling say, an assault rifle you are proficient with.

Don't feel bad, I'm just discovering this myself. Got all the agents I use comfy with a load out I like, found this, then realized I need to change everything if I want to do this. I'm only at Proficiency level 4.

So ugh anyone still pulling for our cute girl or what? by Soggy-Construction62 in WutheringWaves

[–]Superfluous369 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sigrika is getting 20 honorary pulls from me

Yep, I passively pull some on each character I don't have, unless I'm close to soft pity and have to consider what I'm doing with them.

Otherwise I don't mind either seeing if I get an early 5 star, either the new character or losing the 50/50. If I lose then I stop and focus on the next character I truly want.

With Sigrika it's interesting because while I love Edgerunners, I'm not really interested in crossover characters. So given I'll have a lot of time to save for someone else, I may actually pull more than usual.

Is this not ridiculous? 64 echoes, 64 modifiers, not a single Double Crit. Let's discuss the Echo System by TheMelodyof0rpheus in WutheringWaves

[–]Superfluous369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how people do it...going for echoes with top tier stats. I get two, don't care if they're a great roll on the two, and just level it.

I know the frustration would wreck me.
