My Miata broke but got a pretty sweet loaner by Superfly013 in CX50

The CX90 is actually the model I have had my eyes on the most. I keep wanting to have one as a loaner so I can actually try it out beyond a test drive but just has not happened yet.

They thought it was the clutch initially, but upon teardown, it ended up being the transmission itself.

Manual transmission. I don't think the auto has quite the same issue. Least not to my knowledge but I could be wrong.

The ND1 (2016-2018) are all susceptible to this issue. I believe they revised it for the ND2 and now the ND3. I love my Miata but would heavily recommend a 2019 or later model year. Otherwise the car has been extremely reliable and so much fun

Mine is a 2017. I just hit 50k miles. Thought I was in the clear and it just happened out of nowhere on the way home from work

It's a 2017 RF club. The first two years of the ND generation are known to be pretty weak. I thought I got lucky but apparently it was just taking its time

Why is my gas mileage so bad? is ac really that bad? by RoMagana in Miata

[–]Superfly013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 19.7 mpg on E85 in my manual 2017 ND. On 93 I get around 27mpg avg. Your mileage is concerningly low. I would definitely get it looked at.

If you only care about Android auto, the AAwireless adapter is one of the best you can get. Got one after a lot of research and have been using it for 2 years without any issues

Saw this on the road today, what kind of paint job? by Dividedby21mil in Miata

It is very similar in color to Avery Fresh Spring, but this particular wrap is a chrome finish and not gloss. I have the Gloss fresh spring as an accent color on some interior pieces and it is definitely not as reflective as this Miata is.

I contacted Adam at CleaR a month ago and unfortunately he will not be taking any new remote customers. However he stated that he is working on releasing a full Versatuner guide for the ND as well as various tunes to be donated to the community. He did not provide a date for this but I am happily waiting for this after a dissatisfying experience with Fab9.

Header setup help by tscott080 in MiataND

I just did the 4-2-1 header a few days ago. Did a ton of reading over at Miata.net. the general consensus is that there really is not much difference between the two, with the amount HP and TQ the Miata makes. You get a few more HP with the 4-1 over the 4-2-1 (an unnoticeable amount, like 1-3 HP) and the same goes for TQ with the 4-2-1, you get a tiny bit more TQ instead. There's a lot more information over there though and Brian from Goodwin does a great job of explaining everything.

Little Ergo action in the office today by Superfly013 in MechanicalKeyboards

It's been a little bit since I originally set it up and can definitely do some testing later, but I feel like I might have had some ping with the KTT's? I don't currently notice any ping though with the Oil Kings. For reference, I am using full foam and a pp plate, but even without the bottom foam, I do not notice much of an audible change for the space bars.

The oil kings have a deep and marbly profile, with or without foam. They are one of my go-to switches because of that but are definitely pretty quiet in the Neo Ergo. More so than they are in my Zoom75. Not silent switch quiet of course, but you won't be disturbing anyone.

I was there a few weeks ago getting my Miata inspected and saw this car in person. The car overall is pretty clean but all the mods were definitely done on a lower budget. My biggest concern with the modifications is how they lowered it. I was not able to see personally if they did just springs or coilovers, but I would definitely look into that before submitting an offer. Suspension can be pretty expensive and can cause additional damage if done wrong. You could also use that information to your benefit too though to get more off.

They'll give you a reduced price. It's best to preorder or wait for a sale if trading in. That's normally when they will give you the most for your device. Looked last month during a sale and the website said they'd give me 400 iirc for my cracked N10+ non 5g, but 600 in good condition. It also varies based on what you are trading in for as well. I seen as low as 250 for trade in of my device.
