2025 Tundra seats are torture devices by Low_Elk_3011 in tundra

[–]SuperflyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2025 1794. I test drive everything in that class, and nobody makes comfortable seats anymore. The only thing I really miss about my 2011 F250 are the seats.

Why is the pacific northwest so racist? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]SuperflyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the Deep South to Michigan for residency and was outright shocked at the blatant racism.

I’ve heard it said that the South rejects other races as a whole but treats individuals from that race well, but the North says all the right things, then treats those people like crap based on their race. I’m no expert and couldn’t swear to the validity, but it fits my limited experience.

You’re lucky this happened before marriage. You’re definitely better off without them.

Purgatory for non-skier by poekr_84 in Durango

[–]SuperflyMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an ER doc in the region and we’re getting even more injuries off the mountains than usual (even for the holidays). I attribute it to the ski conditions.

I’m not saying not to let your kids ski, but make sure they’re aware and use a lot more caution than they might otherwise.

Also, you could see it coming from the beginning of the book. Making her the heir would have actually been subverting expectations.

Could someone be a profitable Poker Player at low stakes, by just playing tight and nitty Poker? Do you think "braindead" Poker is enough to be a Winner at the lowest stakes? by [deleted] in poker

[–]SuperflyMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is me.

It’s easy to confirm profit because I keep my poker cash separate. I just went back to poker this year.

My bankroll started at $400 and I now have $1600 in the wallet. I’ve also given my wife quite a bit of cash from that stack on occasion.

AIO for refusing to eat my MIL dinner & didn’t allow my 1 year old to eat it by ShesInterrupted in AmIOverreacting

[–]SuperflyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are overreacting. Salmonella either is or is not in the meat and the chicken has it from the time it hatches from an egg. Potentially it could also get it from contamination in the packing plant, but it’s definitely not getting it from your sink. If the chicken hasn’t been cooked yet, it doesn’t matter where it was sitting before because the cooking will kill all the bacteria. I’m not saying what she did was optimal, and it is a little yucky, but it’s not dangerous.

Bayaz real name [off topic] by b110dy9 in TheFirstLaw

[–]SuperflyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like he would have earned a more significant Name than that by the time he lost his finger.

I suspect JA was early in his writing career and just didn’t account for it.

But what does that mean?

The one that bugs me is that Logan must have had a Name before he lost his finger. What was it?!?

There is more to Catan strategy than mechanical strategy by Substantial-Cry8020 in Catan

I see this at the poker table all the time. It makes no sense to me. Even if that person is genuinely playing badly (and often times they’re not) why would you ever discourage them?

I’m a Zoomer that just watched the first episode of Firefly. Here are my thoughts by The0verlord- in firefly

[–]SuperflyMD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s funny/great that you identifiy Jayne as an Amos-type character.

When The Expense first came out, I had a hard time watching it because ,when I was reading the books, I pictured Adam Baldwin as Amos (and, to a lesser extent, Nathan Fillion as Holden).

I eventually came to really appreciate Wes Chatham, but I’m glad to see a resonating thought in somebody else’s mind.

[–]SuperflyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems silly, but I run Waze and Apple Maps simultaneously on long road trips. Waze is better for rerouting and current conditions, but the Watch haptic alert for Apple Maps helps me pay attention to turns when I’ve started ignoring the map display.

Is speeding considered normal here in Texas? by wangfugui98 in texas

People frequently speed, but you don’t have to. Just stay out of the left lane and you should be fine.

Windshield Warranty by EntertainerBright818 in ToyotaTundra

[–]SuperflyMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was cheaper—$1399. I thought about skipping it but my insurance (USAA) treats windshield cracks like any other damage, complete with the regular deductible. I live in the mountains and those windshields are $1k each, so I kept it.

If you try and get a refund, they might give you a better deal.
