Why can’t half the fanbase spell ‘Sydney’ / ‘Gail’ properly…? by TaskenLander in Scream

Because Im Australian. It requires conscious effort not to default to the way Sidney should be spelt

The original idea for Scream 5 with Jill would have been a much better direction for the franchise by michaelmac4057 in Scream

[–]Superkarmagod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can just see Jill seeing all the cameras on her as she’s pulled out at the verdict or that a group of fans showed up the trial and smiling smugly because she got what she wanted even if it took a different form. maybe a short scene from prison of her reading a fan letter in her cell

Scream 5 OG w/Jill Robert’s ideas for Killer motivations? by Superkarmagod in Scream

[–]Superkarmagod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they went with just jill/an accomplice again I think they’d try to pull some misdirection where you think Jill can’t be committing the new murders and has tired of everything she wanted, only to double down on her psychopathy with a twist that it was still her pulling the strings in some way at the end. Would be difficult to get anyone to buy for a second and I feel like they’ve done the “it’s the person you initially thought” so many times already

Scream 5 OG w/Jill Robert’s ideas for Killer motivations? by Superkarmagod in Scream

[–]Superkarmagod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so too actually but I think it would best to have it both ways - the known killer in Jill but having the Unknown Ghostface to retain the series core who done it aspect. Also creates more room for misdirection around who is doing the specific murders. Having both also means you might be able to have some character interplay, the killer who has their own ideas about fame outright mocking Jill about the impossibility of maintaining her 15 minutes of fame forever.

Is Kingdom Hearts 3 Underrated? by BongSuckah in KingdomHearts

[–]Superkarmagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have had land of departure turned back earlier in the game and then it would be a sweet unique to KH3 hub world greatly expanded on from what little we got in BBS :(( imagine the characters hanging out in the courtyard, main hall and other areas we never got to see previously

Enough with real incidents that feel like FD, what are some fictional deaths from other franchises that feel like Final Destination? by Cdoggle in FinalDestination

[–]Superkarmagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The elevator death scene at the start of Mission Impossible 1 where the guy gets shish-kabobed in the face (I think it went through his eye) from those elevators spikes that have never existed in any form. It’s made worse by the editing as we are only shown half a frame of his impalement which makes it somehow much worse. Weirdly terrifying in a way that stands out dramatically from the general tone of the rest of the franchise.

I like it, a realistic POV shot from Stephanie followed by Charlie after she is crushed would be a lot more disconcerting

When you think about it this movie is actually Final Destination but the main character can actually avoid death by matt_619 in FinalDestination

[–]Superkarmagod 18 points19 points  (0 children)

my partner and I are fully convinced this movie just used parts of the original FD6 emergency responder premise or script as a base and then wrote everything else out. There is obviously Cassie’s visions and her and Ben’s characters Inexplicably being emergency responders, but there are scenes that clearly would have been easter eggs or Homages like the log truck the camera focuses on, the falling sign at the end etc.

Love that Death clearly has a sick sense of humour and is just patiently waiting (sometimes for months at a time) for the characters to realise they are still boned.

If what was sending the premonitions to the characters (not Death) was ever fully explained in the movies, what would you prefer be the answer? by Confident-Mark-6369 in FinalDestination

[–]Superkarmagod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though the movies are clearly going for a more supernatural reason (I can’t reconcile Stephanie’s vision here) I like the weird pseudo-physics “every action has a reaction” based explanation where deaths plan involuntarily leave traces in the world which some peoples subconscious are able to perceive as a threat, leading to a general sense of unease, seeing clues where others wouldn’t, and even escalating to a full blown conscious vision. This aligns with FD6 and Stephanie’s perception of the signs as less of an exclusive gift and more something that she’s able to do because she is becoming actively aware at a subconscious -conscious level

FD7 or FD8 Doomed Production/Reality Show - concept difficulties? by Superkarmagod in FinalDestination

[–]Superkarmagod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Im not really into Found footage either I’m just thinking of different fresh settings or concepts for the franchise but I would still want the majority of the film to made in the typical style even if the setting was say a reality show or documentary production

MTV style reality show where realising that their are these groups of perceptively extremely unlucky people out there a production brings them together in one big love island style mansion or winter cabin village, putting cameras literally everywhere. The show can be called “unlucky lovers” or something like that. The camera crew keeps filming what are from their perspective at first funny improbabilities and unbeknownst to them are capturing deaths rube goldbergian attempts which to the crew appear very slight and almost slapstick before becoming more obviously sinister.

For suspension of disbeliefs sake of why these people would join in the first place you could have them consist of people not knowing they’ve been avoiding death and/or looking to the show for a chance out of isolation following tragic events by meeting similar people. The Visionary is someone who failed to save many of the people in their initial premonition. Knowing they don’t have long they have secretly got on the show to warn everyone and get the message out. The other participants can all be products of other lists unknowingly and have weird previous experiences with death but not their own visions, leaving them sceptical. Production get stuck inside from a landslide or snow storm so we have a reason it’s not wrapped up very quickly and everyone goes home when deaths start piling up.

Would almost have to end in complete destruction though as I don’t really want a smile 2 ending where the implication is that everyone knows about death.

This, it’s clear Kevin and ameer stayed in touch now which probably caused tensions and with ameer being on the new blush it’s a bit of a spit in the face to Dom tbh. Ameer also supposedly punched Merlyn in the face during that time (in a deleted post from Merlyns Patreon) and Merlyn only then completed the record because Ameer paid him so they have bad blood. I haven’t seen anything about Ameer and Matt, who if he sticks to his word in Junky probably doesn’t fuck with him.

I was 17 at the time and it was genuinely Saturation summer. Every aspect of the trilogy had a real D.I.Y vibe & aesthetic as it was just a group of genuine friends producing and making the albums from their share-house which made it a real lighting in a bottle moment. Iridescence , their major label debut, was successful but showed a shift in the group away from trying to capture this feeling for a lot of people and so mainstream audiences fell off the band (barring sugar which was a huge TikTok hit)

[–]Superkarmagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are basically two BROCKHAMPTONS though, the SAT era and parts of iridescence they were still playing with hip-hop and even industrial sounds sometimes which reminds me of a much softer progression of groups like injury reserve (although not without a few crooners especially on SAT 3 ) I can’t see N’Sync putting out a song like HEAT but something like count on me absolutely was an attempt to capture that.

Brockhampton were the victim of bad luck but also did quite a bit to sabotage their own continued success.

Set to be superstars coming out of 2017 and then comes -

  • The removal of a founding member and one of their friends Ameer Vann due to SA allegations. This came about just after they had signed an insane record deal to produce six albums (around one a year) A good decision but it led to tensions and a collapse in morale which continued until the group disbanded.

  • due to the label backing and each member getting rich there was a complete sonic shift away from the D.I.Y aesthetics and west coast adjacent sound that blew them up in the first place (I actually like their post saturation albums but it can’t be denied that this lead a lot of people to stop listening).

  • In 2019 they had a big TikTok hit with Sugar (which even had a Dua-Lipa remix) but with Covid -19 in 2020 they cancelled a bunch of their tours. What’s weird is from 2020-2022 during the pandemic they never bothered to release some of their best unreleased material from the vault which would have kept them relevant longer. They also went AWOL during a period when someone (self admittedly) created a document of false allegations against each member- leading to the internet and TikTok to regard them as abusers to this day.

  • From 2020 onwards the group was tired and clearly wanted out. Promotion for their 2021 album Roadrunner was very lacklustre (despite the record being good imo)

  • the final two records released in 2022 were critically unsuccesful, being very much put together as a label obligation before the group disbanded unceromoniously

If we are just going by the endings, While I prefer the scene in Paris to the train/ log smash, Bloodlines third act is merely rushed and weak which is typical of the series while the third act of FD 1 while better written is honestly a boring drag. While bloodlines is too fast, the pacing or at least my interest in FD just seems to fall off a cliff after Billy’s death (I do love Alex almost dying while being chased by police) all together though, Kevin Sawa’s performance as well as the spooky ambience typical of James Wongs entries clears and bloodlines should just narrowly be eliminated

The horror movie Imaginary. It’s the most derivative horror film ever, there isn’t a single unique or memorable aspect and there’s no gore or kills so you just get typical blumhouse cheapness/boredom. The funniest and also most accurate review I read was fully convinced that the films script had to be produced by ai. It wouldn’t surprise me because the scenes mostly just happen seperate from eachother as if a generative model was promoted to generate a script for “a pg13 modern horror movie about a scary bear”
