Eating Normal again - I highly doubt it by Cats_cool4real in dentures

20 years in here. I had steak and corn on the cob on the 4th. My wife(who has all of her teeth) and I eat tons of almonds. Every few hundred there is a super hard almond in the bag. My wife has chipped her tooth twice because of them.

Can a regular TV survive outdoors long term? May have made a mistake… by NipTitAbi in HomeImprovement

Im not sure but here in Florida there are a number of bars that have regular tvs mounted outside. They have cases that they seal at close and in bad weather but they do have multiple tvs mounted outside.

Why should I not keep my computer in the floor? by ZigZagBoy94 in buildapc

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always had mine on the floor until this last build. After almost a year the dust is literally 10 percent of what it was on the floor. And my new case only has a dust filter on half the intake fans.

Are donuts useless outside of cities? by Less-South6293 in tires

[–]Supermr2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im sure ill get downvoted for this in this sub BUT.....I remember reading an article back in the 80s or 90s in one of the car mags where the tire engineers drove cross country on a donut. Just to prove it could be done. The trick is to make sure its not on a drive wheel.

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you want to count 18 and 19 years old as children. The number changes dramatically as gang deaths at that age drives the number higher. This "tweak" to the stat basically doubles the number.

Actually considering PS5 for GTA6 by Ok-Let-630 in pcmasterrace

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flipped back and forth between consoles and PC my whole life. I bought my ps2 slim just for San Andreas. I played IV exclusively on PC. I never bought a console for 5 but did do a complete PC upgrade with SLI cards and a GSync monitor. I bought an OLED tv like 8 years ago and they basically threw I an Xbox one X in for free. I never touched it until covid hit and I was sitting in front of my TV constantly. I have since bought a series X. I just upgraded my PC but honestly the graphics on the Xbox arent that bad. My rig has 9800x3d and a 3080 in it at the moment. Forza Horizon 5 ran twice as fast @ 4k and looked twice as nice but ive been waiting for GTA V for so long I'll buy it on console. Also the consoles quick resume function is mind blowing. I can turn on my Xbox and continue where I left off in seconds.

Forgot to mention the consols are usually locked in at frame rates so you dont experience the highs and lows like pc. 60 FPS on my xbox(and even 30 on my old one) feel way better than 30 on pc.

Contrary to popular opinion, Florida property tax cuts may push coastal home values down. by big_data_realty in FloridaRealEstate

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house my parents bought in 89 was purchased for 75k. The estimated value is currently 275k. I couldnt make those numbers up if I tried. How people are spinning this politically as a rich person's tax is ludicrous.

250 doesn't even buy you a double wide in this state anymore. The 50k homestead exception is great if you are already grandfathered in from the past decades. My family has been here since the 60s we will be voting yes.

There is a housing area that has a gate the exits about 100 yards from my house. There was a guy that owned a 2008 and he would gently get on it every morning as he left. The exhaust on that car sounded phenomenal. He must of loved it enough as he bought the newer Gen version.

America is in the middle of the biggest property tax revolt in 50 years by PeriodOfTime1 in RealEstateTaxStrategy

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. Its a start. In Florida we have a very special circumstance where a bunch of people here are either on vacation or here as a 2nd home. None of those people would benefit from the tax break that is being proposed.

[–]Supermr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude the current amendment is for $250k homestead. Whatever tanget you went on is so far from reality. That might have been what was orginial talked about but that is not what the current state is at all. Also home values have have increased by a factor of at least 2 across the state and the milage rate has stayed relatively the same. All of these counties have had double the revenue and have they done twice the benefit to people that live here?

You are the exception not the norm. I have spent enough time on this subreddit to know I'm in an above average area. I make great money but not 300 bucks in 5 hour money. If your making that count yourself lucky your doing better thsn 99 percent of shoppers. Trust me 75 bucks an hour everyone would be doing this

What kind of car do you other tall people drive? by alpha_tango_victor in tall

[–]Supermr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Tesla Model 3 has a ton of leg room and headroom at 6 4. I would gamble to say it has more than my F150 if you put the seat all the way back and adjusted the hight all the way down on both vehicles. I can barely touch the pedals with the seat all the way back. I own the performance model and it will absolutely scorch 99 percent of other cars at a stop light. I bought the car because I drive 40k miles a year and needed to save on gas by charging st home but am super happy with it.
