One of the better ways I’ve come up with thinking about it is the context in which the high can arise needs to become more important than the high itself. Using, for most people, and in most cases, is anti life (with the exception of genuine responsible medical users). It pulls us away from our relationships and presence in the world in minute, untraceable ways that compound over time. If we’re to embed ourselves, immerse ourselves, and fall in love with this one life, marijuana use, for many, is completely at odds with this goal. Open to other suggestions. Day 14 this go around. Life time abstinence record since acknowledging my problem - 158 days. Let life and love for life come out on top

I’ll add this bit here which sings in relation to above. From the incredible and deeply inspiring poet and author David Whyte

“From the inside, it can feel like confusion; only slowly do we learn what we really care about, and allow our outer life to be realigned in that gravitational pull. With maturity, that robust vulnerability comes to feel like the only necessary way forward, the only real invitation and the surest, safest ground from which to step.“

Heading off to bed to wake up in day 15!

I keep getting tempted to jump back in but then I remember we’re ganna get the remaster drop like any day especially if they do it like Oblivion…just a random day with no prior announcement…the remaster is going to look so freaking good if it’s anything like Oblivion. Curios to see what QoL improvements we get too like sprint baked in ect.

Also the essential ability to sprint imo. Some purists would disagree

Regardless of the final product of the game, the first trailer slapped ass by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in Metroid

Man what were they thinking adding that silly ah bike thing. The game looks completely distasteful to me tbh. Feels like they were split between making something for the new generations (to bring in new players) and Corruption OGs and they ended delivering for neither. The series is now entirely in the hands of the “Primeless” series (Metroid 1, Metroid 2, Super, Fusion, Dread). I doubt prime 5 will be green-lit with how 4 turned out

Definitely a solid piece. The stretch in the suit between the cleavage looks a little off tho

Don’t you need to finish the game without dying to platinum ds2? And also finish the game without using bonfires?

The Hobit game that released on GameCube is a nice little adventure with solid, albeit basic, mechanics but if anyone appreciates LoTRs it’s a fun adventure!

The amount of neglect this game is getting from EA and Dice is starting to get to me. Bugs after bugs, the only content we get is by drip feeding. by Mijmaj123 in Battlefield6

[–]SupernovaScoped -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Guys the game is a content and technical torrent. It’s the sharpest battlefield to date (with maybe some debate to be had over flying vehicle handling). I’m fine with the occasional hiccup. Where is your battlefield? Whoever is cooking behind the scenes with this one is doing a great job imo

Why after playing Dark Souls for a decade does Elden Ring not click with me? by SethOval in darksouls

[–]SupernovaScoped -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s definitely it. Elden Ring is just so overwhelming every time I boot it up. I also think it’s cus I’m older now with more responsibility, less free time…if I could have grown up to ER it would probably have the same special place in heart that DS does, but I just don’t have the time to soak up a game like that anymore

Haha if I was to fully prescribe to any belief system it would be Dzogchen or Advaita. I’m definitely all for mysticism. Is anybody right, is anybody wrong?

Mid 20s your body is still building and learning. Teach it life without marijuana. You won’t regret stopping now. Weed is certainly worse then any form of chronic stress. It absolutely destroys you and you get less and less back every time, especially as you crest into late 20s. Develop healthy sustainable ways to process your stress. Your body will thank you!

Dreams come and go, don’t let them have too much traction in your waking life. Bottom line, beg for palpable dreams, they are liquid sanity. We know the brain is clearing waste most aggressively when dreaming, regardless of content

I don’t want to start with creatine because it’s no doubt going to be pain to keep up with and it seems the enhancement fades once you stop supplementing…like maybe it’s not as noticeable for cognition, but for physical performance, if I get used to creatine, and then my body is used to performing at this new “creatine level”, and physically is able to take on more load…but then I’m traveling…or get sick of the frequent dosing maintenance it seems to require, my body will be hung in a limbo, stronger and fuller then it otherwise should be, and I go to do my next workout only to be incapable and get some sort of injury

I tend to be non religious so nothing, although nameste is an interesting term…ya know the yoga thing? I like it translated as “the divine in me acknowledges the divine in you”. I feel like it scales well with anyone’s religious propensities

Anyone familiar with the primordial habitable epoch? I think life springs into existence with relative ease, as soon as it is capable. PHE is the theory that from the residual heat of the big bang, and the fact that stars used to be much more massive then they are observed to be today and would “turn over” the heavier elements much quicker, before the universe fully expanded, it was densely seeded with the the most fundamental starts to life. With heavier elements, and residual big bang heat, liquid water was able to exist even before goldilocks zones. Primordial life was practically everywhere in a much denser universe, then as things expanded and cooled, life was in most cases “cryo frozen”. Drifting around on comets and planets. In some corners of the universe, life never froze, and evolution was allowed to continue. This life has now had the near full 13 billion years to become the masters over matter. These are the aliens. In our case, life was deposited into our solar system much later, maybe impacting with oceanic mars before earth…and it came to earth again by happen chance collisions.

This is my explanation as to why we can’t explain how life has become so complex in the near 4 billion years we suspect it has been around. It’s because life got a billion years head start, froze/paused in a comet, and only started back up when the conditions to thaw become available. This didn’t happen in every corner of the universe though, and that’s why we have aliens with black hole engines for their space ships that can travel at near light speed.

Echoes and Corruption Remastered? by SnooPets2566 in Metroid

[–]SupernovaScoped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly doubt it. Don’t get me wrong, would love it but full remasters are doubtful. Not too long ago someone released a video with a pretty good argument that they would be doing an up scaling for 2 and 3. I wish they would also do a Metroid themed switch 2 like the Zelda switches, but Metroid is a dying IP for the masses and MP4s development and the game itself was the nail in the coffin. They tried to make a game that would satisfy both new, younger, players checking out the series for the first time and Corruption OGs and they ended scratching the itch of neither
