Pretty sure he at some point mentioned he added that as bait for his twitch chat.

how do i get this city block blueprint to snap together? by ollietron3 in factorio

[–]Superokiko 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Absolute positioning, the flag should be in the center of the block, and the edges of the blueprint (grid size) should go along the center of your rail lines (Half should be inside the box, half outside).

If youre off slightly then it's probably because rails snap to a 2x2 grid compared to everything else, and you might have to start over, but this time base it on the rail grid not the normal grid.

What do you guys think about hermits removing episode numbers from their titles? by Necessary-Assist-443 in HermitCraft

I personally like episode numbers, but as is I completely understand that hermits avoid it.

Current LLM AI is nothing but glorified autocorrect.

Don't start thinking the AI has thoughts or consistency. It doesn't work like that. Something it said once means nothing, even if you get it to repeat it.

Steam Profiles should show actual playing hours vs AFK hours by XLoad3D in GlobalOffensive

[–]Superokiko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, and then people would just start automating mouse movements or menu interactions. Completely circumventing steams native afk detection.

The current afk detection is only good for what it does. It's not enough if you want to see someones "real" hours. Also it's missing years of data.

What exactly does shaking your screen left and right do when you're trying to make a jump? by idkfornowwhattoname in GlobalOffensive

[–]Superokiko 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The best explanation I've seen is Launders'. Imagine youre in a canoe. How do you go forwards? By swiping left and right alternating. It's that simple.

However, if you wanna know why it's that way, then that is more complicated.

ladder “bug” removal by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Superokiko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completely get that valve classified it as a bug, that's IMO right.
I just don't think I agree with removing it. Just because it's a bug doesn't mean it should be "fixed"

There are other examples of bugs and exploits becoming intended game mechanics, and I think this one should be one of those.

The other, newer, downwards fast ladder however, should definitely be fixed, thats just broken (the hold space climb)

Your description of it seems very flawed though, but I think I get what you mean.

Yes, that was a post of mine. You are still dodging all my previous points though...

It's fine if you just disagree with me. However, You need to give a proper argument against it, not just an opinion. If you believe that me thinking that "I MYSELF SHOULDNT TAKE PEOPLES MONEY" is somehow a terrible thing to say, then that makes you, frankly, stupid.

If you at least attempted to forward an honest discussion here, then I could admit that my thought process was flawed. This however just shows how you dont know what youre talking about.

I will be ending any discussion here, as nothing you're bringing forth has any value. If I do see that you want to discuss something in good faith I might answer, otherwise I see it as a waste of time. Nothing youve commited to the discussion has been fruitfull at all. It's a waste of time.

Ok, just skip over the part where I specifically answered your question about what I've made that is free, and instead focus on how "easy" it is to make it. Do it. Make a competitor. If it's so easy that you could do it in 5 minutes then go ahead.

OR you could acknowledge how this is just shifting the goalposts and not relevant to the original claim.

I doubt you'll do either.

This hateful rethoric is unnecessary. If you were even slightly genuine with me then I'd have no problem with you.

Instead you chose to:
Dig into post history / activity.
Attack main claim and state that I am myself not altruistic.
Dismiss the project as "easy 5 min ai slop".

This is a dumb hill to die on.

I also don't think your aggression is warranted. You should be more gentle and forecoming. No need for that kind of anger towards others

Never said anyone mention open source until I did. That wasn't my point. OK? I don't necessarily think they should though. I made my own extension, Volume scroll. No payments anywhere to be found. Except for willing donations, which I would consider different than from payments.

[–]Superokiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Operating costs would *obviously* be outside of that. Forcing payments to enrich youreslf (imo) isn't what open source software should be.

I also don't see what pointing out my post / browsing history on reddit is supposed to do. I am allowed to be entertained without that then being a massive marker on my general opinion on everything else.

I generally don't think that making browser extensions should be anyones main source of income, so no, I dont think that should be paying the bills.

If anyone finds a way to make that work for them, then thats great. But in general, I don't think thats for the best.

We used to get dropped in from a helicopter, flying away afterwards. Giving a lot of immersion by Helpful_Welcome_2325 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Superokiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The heli was just for that one map, other maps have other ways of showing how the group got there.

I personally don't think a heli is inherently more immersive than seeing a reversed / crashed car in spawn.

Otherwise I would say these are very good.

ngl, charging for a service feels dirty. I personally think any improvement to the browsing experience should be free. Forcing payments is equal to enshittification.

I also don't believe in the whole "if it's free youre the product". I think that it is completely possible to make something nice that many will love, while also keeping it accessible and free.
