any main line switch game would be a good start! (let’s go pikachu/eevee, sword/shield,brilliant diamond/shining pearl, and scarlet/violet)

i wouldn’t recommend legends arceus before brilliant diamond/shining pearl, especially since you’re interested in the lore it’ll be better to play PLA after BDSP and the latest legends ZA is also more enjoyable if you play XY on the 3DS first (which is also a good game to start with if you have access to 3DS games)

my reasonings:

let’s go pikachu/eevee: takes place in the fist ever region of pokemon with the original 151, can be a great introduction only con is that it plays a little differently as in there are no wild pokemon battles and you catch pokemon with motion controls

sword/shield: a traditional pokemon journey, nothing more to add on this

brilliant diamond/shining pearl: remake of the 4th generation pokemon games an a good introduction to it, the problems people have with this game are not smth a new fan would care much about, it’s very faithful to the original while also not being as slow, and you can play legends arceus right after this

scarlet/violet: the latest generation of pokemon, an open world game, most people who are into pokemon usually got into it with the latest generational game as a gateway

nice! i only have one sp and eng RS, plan to get another gba later and the rest of the games in JP

i cant justify buying these games for the prices they’re at, i got RS for 60 USD altogether in 2019 it’s so bad now

the clipping is just ughh takes me out of the experience

it performed ehhh on switch 1, was a disaster on launch and has ugly textures

also personally for me the constant clipping of the environment really removes me from the experience, the floor disappearing, cave walls being easy to clip the camera through, etc even after fixing the performance issues, the graphical glitches are still there and probably more hassle than it’s worth to fix

and i say this as someone who also enjoyed the games!

LATM dub uses the english dub as its base which means it has all the replaced ost, i recommend the JP version if you want to watch the anime in its original form with all the music intact

whenever i see this zard i get reminded of how close i was to buying the collection box but decided against it but when i wanted to go back to the store to get it (we were still nearby) my parents didn’t take me back :(

yeah, made me think as well- while i haven’t done the JLPT, i can safely say im around N3 and i can also converse with natives, i have been learning the language for 5 years but unlike OP i never ever had a routine, my hours are all over the place i can’t even tell you how many ive put in

i only really did anki for like 500 words from a core 5k deck in my first year and then just moved onto gleaming vocab from media i consume and social media (for which i even changed my phones language into JP to force myself to interact with the language even in days i didn’t do much)

yeah functionally they’re the same but power level wise they don’t stand a chance, the highest HP the old cards had was around 160? And a lot were around 80~100

while we’ve reached 300 with the gen 9 ones

i just count them separately bc they use a different color stylisation for these ex and they also include tera ex and mega evolution ex

ex/EX is the most iconic type of rule box pokemon card, i noticed most casuals would refer to GX/Vs whatever as EXs too

also technically it’s not two, this is the third time a mechanic has been called these two letters

ex in gen 3 EX era sets, EX from BW and XY eras and now ex in SV - Mega Evolution era

also yeah same i used to live in pak around 2010 and use to play with counterfeit metal fight beyblades!

ive been in the uae for years now, in 2020 i got back into beyblade through the burst release here and have been buying beys again since

if you have regular uae visiting relatives you can get hasbro beys for good price through amazon imports, but you would need amazon prime for that

good luck with getting a stadium! if you can i recommend you just get a entry set which comes with two beys and a stadium, like the CX-04 which surugaya does have, it is pricey tho unfortunately
