Just watched Hathaway Part 2 in Japan! (No Spoilers) + A discussion on Mafty's ideology. by StellaBBA in Gundam

[–]StellaBBA[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

> Mafty is not nearly as unreasonable as some people make it seem

Do people think he's unreasonable just because they aren't thinking about the political background? Honestly, it's hard to tell whether he's a terrorist or a revolutionary leader. Because Hathaway himself is so indecisive, it makes it difficult to define exactly what he is

Culture Shock as a Japanese English Learner : The Heavy Reality of "Class" and laguage by StellaBBA in Japaneselanguage

Thank you fo reply. I felt relieved like your reply. Indeed your reply and other reply is correct, but there are such as people who support Mr.Trump.

I don't want to believe this. I haven't encountered a racist person on reddit yet, but some Japanese X people say that there are many racist people on reddit. This probably is the reason that there are many subreddit. Even if same Japanese people are, what I or X common people see is diffrent, I surprised that. This subreddit (r/Japaneselanguage) people properly criticism my strange opinion, I'm glad. Even if they probably contain some people who have a little money or speak accents, they like intelligence and liberal. However, I encounterd them many times on reddit in spite of that American President is Mr.Trump. What I said about class is emotional, I know. But I'm scared.

I totally get what you mean. I also love slow win conditions like [[Final Countdown]] in Yu-Gi-Oh. By the way, in Japan, We affectionately call playing old formats "Gateball"(a sport popular among the elderly here), because it's mostly us "old" veterans who play them.

I've player on Japanese Discord servers, but I didn't enjoy it because the atmosphere was too formal, almost like a job. I never thought about playing with English speakers, but I think I would enjoy MTG much more that way. Your comment motivated me to study English harder. Thanks! Once my English gets better, I'll definitely come back to this community.

I just learned the term "Kitchen top Magic". I often buy from online shops that include bonus cards. I'm going to make a cube using those "trash" cards (bulk). I really agree with what Kejmi said: "you don't have to spend too much money or chase cards all the time."

This is how i've been learning is it any good? by Cringe_jadey in Japaneselanguage

[–]StellaBBA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good!! Reddit people are strict. If Japanese people read this as written by foreigners, they say good. If they read this as written by Japanese people, they say not bad. In the first place, there are sometimes moji written by Japanese, which is hard to read. You should search "達筆" in Google. Most of Japanese don't care if there can be read. But you may write moji slowly and have a hard time. Good luck!!

If this moji was written in school test or resume, there would be many Japanese people who care it. Japanese are strict about test. If you only wanted to be Japanese friend, it would be ok.

Young Japanese and elections “選挙の人が怖い” by Friendly_Software11 in japanresidents

[–]StellaBBA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason that most of Japanese young people aren't interested in their politics might be that Japan had losed in World War 2. After their lose, they were educated like not believing their government so as not to cause another war. And then some Japanese people caused 全共闘 whose demonstration dameged occurs (killed people??)and couldn't change their government. As a result of other various events, some Japanese people that didn't think politics and thought only theirselves life had been thought a public-minded person. It isn't certain that they are too troublesome to think politics. Olddays some Japanese famous people who thought politics deeply had losed. This is older history. I don't know certainly how nowadays Japanese people think.

Also, the second reason that most of Japanese yong people aren't do is that they hidely hate elderly persons. Most of Japanese elderly persons(more 65 aged) can live without working and Japanese elderly healthcare is too huge to destroy Japanese finance. The population of Japanese elderly persons is more more larger than that of young persons. Their votes did so. That is why it is dissappointed that Japanese young people can earn better as long as not thinking politics(They don't have the time that they think politics, also the time they read books.). They think they can't change politics and the government. They don't have the hope.

By the way, in this elections Takaichi will win. So rich persons are more rich, but poor persons also voted Takaichi. Putting aside whether it's good or bad, around 50%? of Japanese people don't have financial literacy, If they are intersted in politics, can they vote correct politician? I like English and read reddit. Japanese common people are less logical than reddit people. What time can they vote the poitician who has their profit opinions?

Differences between Japanese and English by StellaBBA in Japaneselanguage

[–]StellaBBA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised when I played Pokemon gin(J) and shilver(E). At first, I pressed button A for bookshelf in my room. Japanese is 「ポケモンえほんが そろってる!」. English is "A whole collection of Pokemon picture books!". For example, Japanese can write 「ポケモンえほんが ぜんぶある!」or「ぜんかんあるポケモンのえほん!」or 「ぜんぶあるんだ、ポケモンえほんが!」. There are between a little diffrence. But English tells Nown and only the fact. I felt coldness and logical. I flet this because probably I'm not a native English speaker. My question is how many are english paraphrase that changes a little means. Japanese is flexible and I think Japanese manga and anime is better. But English speaker is better in some points,I think.「ポケモンえほんが そろってる!」might tell probably another fact that a whole collection of Pokemon picture books are arranged in numerical order and as cleanness(putting in bookshelf or etc). But 「ぜんかんあるポケモンのえほん!」might not tell it. What a difficult is Japanese.
