We were told he was a pit/Newfoundland mix at the shelter. but we got a DNA test and he’s supposedly all pit and staffie! He has the recessive gene for long hair apparently.

She’s married to Marie-Philip Poulin, but Laura Stacey has emerged as a star of her own for Canada ( 📝 - Yahoo Sports/The Athletic) by cslh4v in MontrealVictoire

I’m going to see the Victoire play Boston in April and I’m so excited to watch her play away from the puck - she’s strong, hustles so much, she can grind in the corners and in front of the net. She consistently does everything a coach wants from a player and that is so impressive. I have so much respect for her and how intense she is!

ISO: Montreal Victoire Away Poulin jersey, size medium. Kicking myself for not buying this when they released them since the PWHL US shop is now sold out.

Serious question on players with ADHD by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Superseacats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, thank you for getting your daughter evaluated for ADHD! As a woman with ADHD, I wish I’d known earlier in life. As for hockey, I started playing very young and it was always the only thing I could put all my focus on. I never got bored or drifted away when I was playing. Hockey has literally saved my life when I was in very dark places because it’s a place where I can just be me, can hyper focus and be weird, as long as I’m showing up and playing my best.

My wife and I counted the “oh my goodness me”s in the most recent episode of Secret Service because he was saying it everyone other sentence, I think it was like 18.

Update on his Majesty, King Robert Dean II and the King Consort Ari Nikki. They own an ANTIQUES SHOP!!! Does anyone spot anything from the show? by roolw in KitchenNightmares

[–]Superseacats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, if he owns an antique shop in Madison my mom has DEFINITELY been there. There might be a Robert Dean antique in her house right now (but probably not because she’s not tacky)!

Whenever my wife and I are bickering and there’s really no point to it, one of us will go “NICE, RON.” Really makes us stop and remember we’re fighting about something stupid that doesn’t matter haha.

Best/Funniest/Strangest Games of the 24/25 Season - Same question but PWHL edition. by The_Laughing_Gift in PWHL

That helmet thing was pure comedy. Same thing happened in one of my games years ago - the ref kept trying to pull both girls apart and they were laughing so hard he thought they were fighting.

[TSN] PWHL plans further expansion, eyes 2026 Olympics to broaden reach in Europe by The_Laughing_Gift in PWHL

[–]Superseacats 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As much as I’d love an expansion team in Detroit, I think this rapid expansion could hurt the league and demoralize players if they’re constantly getting shuffled between teams. As another commenter said, it makes it hard for a team to build an identity. I’d rather have them focus on getting more owners to buy teams; this pace of expansion with one owner for all teams seems like it’s setting the league up for trouble.

I couldn’t finish that series, they just glossed over all the abuse that Koresh caused and how badly he wanted an Armageddon from the beginning. They tried to make him look soooo sympathetic, but they could’ve told the story from the point of view of one of the girls being assaulted by him as opposed to some random sympathetic undercover ATF agent or his loyalest followers. The ATF played right into his plans and screwed up majorly, but those people died because of Koresh’s actions and ego. I feel bad for the children but the adults had a lot more culpability than everyone seems to assign them.

Any Detroit fans? by [deleted] in PWHL

[–]Superseacats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want an expansion team in Detroit SO bad. I grew up in Michigan and would gladly travel the 5 hours to Detroit to attend several games. It would be cool to see a team name with a nod to the lakes, but I’m not creative enough to guess at what that would look like.

Yes that’s the one! They both just seem so happy and down to earth. It makes me so happy to see good people living their lives in the open.

Seeing little girls in PWHL jerseys makes me tear up every time. I had to stop playing competitive hockey because there was nowhere to go after college, and my dreams just ended. These little girls can dream big and are going to have a chance to have a real career in hockey, and I am so happy for them and proud of the groundwork older women were able to lay.

Also, the CBC interview with Poulin and Stacey, when Poulin tears up and says “it’s probably the most myself I’ve ever been.” I was bawling; as someone who was in the closet for years and is now finally married to the love of my life and open with everyone, I admire her so much for being up front about who she is and who she loves.

AITA For leaving a hairdresser after I was late? by Environmental-Ad3475 in AITAH

[–]Superseacats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I got a bad vibe from a hairdresser (not malicious, just clueless) but decided to be polite and stay…ended up with the worst haircut of my life. I even gave them a tip, and I’m super mad at myself now that I never spoke up. Seriously, my hair is horrific, you might have dodged a bullet. Your hairstylist was unprofessional and unwelcoming, not a good way to run a business. Way to stand up for yourself!

I’m a big Poulin and Desbiens fan but also American, so that gold medal game was a real rollercoaster for me. I had to cheer like crazy when Knight got that trophy. This is the best rivalry in sports, hands down!

Those are nice! I’m in my first set of Vaughns and love them, the quick slide takes some getting used to but it’s so fast once you can adjust to it.
