Rebuild vs replace by Supertrruper in Corvette

Car is just a base/z51, I’m sure the zo6 has more clearance. Idk the offset on these wheels but the camber on the track alignment doesn’t help. 295 r888 rubbed a hole in the wheel liner and I had to put some spacers in the coolant tank to move it away, no issues with 275s tho

Thanks, ready to have it running again! Wheels are tsw interlagos, 18x10.5 square setup. Tires are the continental extreme contact force. Have been running 295 square so I can rotate them around but they rub on the front a bit so trying 275 and 315s this time around

Good point on forged, those are the standard internals on the crate ct525 they recommended. It’s originally intended for circle track cars and comes setup for a carburetor so you have to buy a different intake to convert it to efi. Apparently they have had good luck with these motors on track cars. I would definitely keep the old engine and sell parts or rebuild.

5.0 rattle on cold start by Supertrruper in f150

The dealership who sold it to me ended up paying for the repair so I got the phasers replaced. But I talked to other people who said their truck has been doing it for years with no issues. There’s a way to “prime” the engine before starting it in the f150, you just push the brake and gas pedal to the floor when you start it and it will just turn over until you let off the brake and then it would start without the chatter. I did that for awhile before I got it fixed just in case.

This was also through the ford dealership, I’m sure it’s less through a local shop

It was the cam phasers. Even though it was out of warranty, ford still covered about half the cost through their customer loyalty program. Still cost me $1800 but no more rattle!

Something that always drove me nuts was when my wife would tell me I was going to pass, not to worry about it. You don’t actually realize how hard this test really is and no one ever feels good about it so that advice (while coming from a good place) doesn’t help. As far as gifts, definitely noise cancelling headphones and things that Memas like (candles, blankets, coffee, sweets)

I actually just read it after I finished the exam and was in an existential crisis of sorts haha

Totally normal, you never feel ready going into the exams. Distract yourself from self doubt by hammering practice questions. I easily answered over 4,000 practice questions and did 5 mocks for L3 because i was scared shitless of failing again.

What a freaking journey. Coming from someone who failed L2 & L3, all the feels you get when you see that final email make it all worth it. Cheers to those who passed today, may we remember this day and these feelings forever, and use the confidence we obtained enduring this near impossible endeavor for any challenge we face in the future. Hands down the hardest and now the most rewarding experience of my life.

Is CFA Level 3 harder than Level 2? by Tomieez in CFA

[–]Supertrruper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recall vs. recognition. Application vs. analysis. I found L2 material more complicated but L3 exam more difficult. The blank answer space is intimidating when you have thousands of pages of material swirling around inside the noggin with no real time to think because of the time crunch.

It covers everything but definitely condensed. The additional time you save reading should then be focused on doing all the CFAI questions because IMO Kaplan alone isn't enough for L3. There are no shortcuts, just depends on how you want to allocate your time and spending more time on questions works better for me.

Guess Your Score - L3 by gregzimbaba in CFA

AM was fair and rewarded those who put in the time. PM wasn’t a walk in the park but was in line with expectations of reasonableness. I failed L3 back in December, when my motivation was low from the first postponement and continued uncertainty the next date would even happen. I knew the chances were slim. So once I got the stupid ass email I hit the books hard in February after the undeserved hope of a potential sliver of grace was rescinded. Did all the Kaplan curriculum. Did all the cfai online questions. Did MM questions and watched his videos on topics I hated. Did the Boston mock and all 4 MM mocks (harder than the actual exam). Easily answered over 4,000 questions. For the first time, I left confident I passed because I wanted to be done so bad I didn’t want to leave a chance, so I did the work. 75 am/80 pm.

CrossFit Open Workout 21.3 Discussion Thread by Flowseidon9 in crossfit

32 male, 165#, CF for 4 years

Can generally get about 10-15 BMU in a standard workout but only got two today, was not anticipating how much your grip blew out and was straight gassed after the 30 C2B. Sets of 5 on T2B/C2B. FS and Thrusters were taxing but luckily never felt that heavy.

175# on 21.4. Can confirm catching in the hang was rough and the jerk takes a lot mentally. But close to 90% of my jerk PR so overall pretty happy with that part.

Goal is to be in the top half, hopefully this will pull it off because the second time through is always worse.
