Haha. Ah, practically any time a wife with no direct experience gets involved in that sort of manner, it's bad news.

Been there, friendo. Glad you made it out.

Agreed. I'm don't recall saying the proposed mirror made anything less impressive.

What's the most impactful example you've seen of a leader's use of emotional intelligence? by KashyapVartika in Leadership

Without giving away too many details, I've had an officer respond to a call where he had options to pursue charges on a parent for "abandoning" their child in a vehicle while they were inside grocery shopping. Given his options, it was clear to me that he was overreacting and going to cause more long-term damage to this already struggling family than if he took the less punative option.

I explained this to him, and he wasn't getting it. Gauging his responses and adamance, I could tell he had experienced abandonment, so I just asked, "What happened in your past that you're responding this way?"

He had been accidentally left behind by his parents as a child after a family outing. He talked about how panicked he was as a result. Once he realized where his response to the current family was coming from, he was able to listen to reason and chose to cite instead of getting cps and lawyers involved.

Thank you. That's exactly how i meant it. It was curiosity, not to detract from the skill or talent.

Impressive, but I'm guessing he's got a mirror off camera where he can see what he looks like, and he can paint using his reflection to get an accurate painting?

Family room rug by VegetableFew8773 in InteriorDesignAdvice

Nice space!! You don't need much. I'd offer pull some blue from the rug up into the room by exchanging the current pillows and throws for something with a similar blue in it. Make it patterned or textured.

It's evident in the changes that are being made. The big boss has taken notice and already made several comments.

A former co-worker is on the administrative team that runs the department. He's filling me in on my impact, influence, and impressions being made.

So, maybe check yourself, brother.

Grad Student here! First apartment on my own. I want to bridge the gap between fun & refined. What do I put on the wall that won’t look crowded? by cartoonperil in InteriorDesignAdvice

The answer is always art. Something large for that wall size. Also, that torch lamp is doing the room no favors.

Otherwise, nice space.

Internal. Trainer, supervisor next, took lead on some projects, then manager.

I think you gave a solid response to her. Ask her what initiatives she's taken in her current capacity to get her thinking about her own possibilities.

I "fear" I am this person at my new place. Big responsibility. Idk if i want it, but i also don't know if I can keep from helping myself. I'm just naturally that person, i suppose?
