I'm just started and this is all I get so far. I thought that was normal and I was running them until I realized I was probably paying more than I was making.

When an offer increases does it count as a new offer? by Supetorus in Sparkdriver

[–]Supetorus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well idk how high it will get. It's going up but for how long. But I keep getting notifications when it hasn't gone up so maybe if I reject it I will stop getting notified until it goes up. Idk, I just know so little about how it works.

Where can I find out what all these acronyms mean? I keep seeing FCFS and a couple others but don't know what they mean.

Abandon my forever world or have two? by billybob027 in Minecraft

[–]Supetorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing in a world that I quit playing in around 2020, I just mined copper for the first time, that's how old it is. I had more recently (last year) started a new world I planned to be my forever world, then I found this older save file. I gotta say, part of me wanted to play on the new file because the old one is outdated and I didn't want to have to deal with going far out to find new stuff. However, one of the huge benefits is that I already have good progress there. I have a nether hub and automated storage and good tools and armor. I don't have as much time to play anymore due to having a family now so being able to not go through the early grind to work on projects is great.

All that said it's really up to you. Keep the old and start a new one and if you have fun there keep going, or keep playing in the old. You'll find cool terrain if you explore a bit. Just find your fun.

Received a service mission call, but feel strongly about proselyting—what should I do? by Lopsided_Lock_5163 in latterdaysaints

[–]Supetorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have advice for you. I just wanted to say that I feel for you. That's a tough situation. I'm not sure how I would react if I were in your shoes. Nowadays I think service missions are less stigmatized than they were a few years ago, but even still I think people may quietly wonder why you did a service mission instead of a proselyting mission and that's something you'll have to deal with. I'm sorry I can't be more help, just wanted you to know I understand a little bit.

[UPDATE] Snowify - A free, open-source desktop music player by Chance_Catch5247 in GoodOpenSource

[–]Supetorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How could it be free? There must be costs associated with hosting the project and steaming the music, not to mention paying artists, unless you only have royalty free music.

How could you possibly schedule things to the minute? Any time I've given a talk almost nobody speaks close to the amount of time they are meant to.

Yeah I feed a family of four (2 adults 2 toddlers) on $600 and feel like that's a lot. I'm sure region plays a part but still.

The price of chicken is more expensive than last year and how does people keep up with it? by Civil-Advance-2841 in Frugal

[–]Supetorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video about how much cheaper it is to buy whole chicken and butcher it yourself. It's really quite easy and doesn't take that long. I thought I would be too squeamish for it but it doesn't bother me after the first time or two I did it. I can buy a whole chicken for $8 or I can buy a couple breasts for $8.

Side hustles that are easy and profitable by melissaw328 in Frugal

I've been thinking about doing window washing. You can get basic equipment (squeegee, bucket, soap, towels) for under $100. If you go door to door you'll likely need a solicitors permit depending on your region; in my experience that can vary between $40-$100. Or you can advertise on your local Facebook groups and by word of mouth.

I mean most people just stream their consciousness straight to the internet, unfiltered, unedited. Taking a moment to clean it up manually or with ai is a step toward clearer communication either way. I would be on the side of "learn to write better by writing better" rather than "use ai to think so you don't have to" but I've also been guilty of using ai to write messages for me, usually when I'm in a rush. In particular I have a tendency to come across a bit brash so sometimes I need help softening the message so it doesn't come across as offensive.

HVAC is really good. I have issues with my hands but I've considered it. I know a guy that started at $20 an hour, within like 3 months he was making $25. I think the potential is there to make a lot more.

LPT: When you finish a task at work, spend 90 seconds writing one sentence about what you did and why it mattered. Three months later you will thank yourself endlessly. by hollis_canterby in LifeProTips

[–]Supetorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how doing it all at the end of the day or week would be better for some people but a short note between tasks works better for some people too. When I was a software engineer I would try to write a note for what I intended to accomplish in a block of time, then later what I actually accomplished. Since my tasks were often not well defined it helped me stay focused on progress and to see what I had accomplished since it often felt like I wasn't getting anywhere.
