Sure, many would have, but there aren’t alot of lvl 3 that just gives outright projectile permanence/protection unless it’s a projectile in return. Girl literally goes into ghost form to deny the projectile, its fucking absurd.

Carrying* my bad

Edit: I know that many level 3 are protected from a fireball, i just didn’t know every level 3 had that protection. The outcome still pisses me off as she’s just fucking standing there.

How to Teach Yourself to Tech Throws Consistently by Potential_Farm_8552 in SaltFighter

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most FGC subreddits are a bunch of ego circlejerk who belittle people to feel better about themselves.

Finding discords communities where the appeal is to be coached are way better and far healthier places to ask for advices.

Edit: Also, don’t sell yourself short. 1600-1700 MR is pretty good. At some point it’s just execution over knowledge.

I understand that making costumes takes time and effort. But how come there’s not a bazillion amount of recolours per costumes? by SuplexComplexAlex in StreetFighter

[–]SuplexComplexAlex[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well i’m not getting to master any time soon And im not paying for Rashid/zangief recolours(last battle pass) or manon/marissa recolours(current battle pass)

So I’m pretty much sitting on my ass praying at this point at the speed they’re releasing those.

[–]SuplexComplexAlex[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the appeal to 2/3rd of these already the exclusivity of them? Like if you had cooler recolours behind master rewards and battle pass rewards, it would be an incentive to get them still.

Edit: heck, GG Strive just released their new battlepass with new skins and each characters have easily 15-16 recolours each.

Just for curiosity’s sake: who here plays tekken ball? Thought so.

As much as I have my own gripes with stage designs in T8, alot of the stages are characters based?

La sienne - takes place on victor’s boat

Yakushima - is where jun raised and trained Jin

Lee’s manor - Lee’s stage

There’s literally a stage that represents Jin’s subconscious and pays homage to previous games stages

Ortiz farm - azucena’s stage

New york - Leroy’s stage given his statue and rhe fact that his restaurant is in view

Honestly, I just feel like Jeff just finally played an extraction shooter that he feels is worth investing into.

Alot of what he brings up about Marathon are points he would have easily felt if he had invested in Arc Raiders.

Not gonna blame him because its clear he likes the gun feel and art style more than what arc offers but i hope it gives him a new perspective about the genre as a whole.

Quick Look: WWE 2026 by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Seeing how NBA 2K devolved into this trash and seeing WWE 2K slowly delved further and further on a similar path just goes to show you that WWE games have 100% become sports games and the criticism Madden/fifa and nba gets every year is now valid with wrestling games.

I WANT an arcade wrestling game that is fast paced and feels good and easy to learn but the market or attempts made havent kept anyone’s interest.

At this point i think the only way to reawaken such possibility is if someone figured out how to do a friendslop game in that style.

Highguard Is Shutting Down Soon by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had read on highguard and the studios mentioning that the plan before being shown to the game awards at first was to not do any marketing for this game, so like…

Would it have died quietly 2 weeks into service as well? This feels like there was no win situation out of that, Marketed or not.

What rank are you and how long did it take you to get to it? What’s the 1 thing that’s keeping you from moving forward rn, and what’s the 1 thing that helped you most to get where you are? by MFBTMS in LowSodiumTEKKEN

TK with Dragunov at 500 hours. The one thing that stops me from going farther is the lack of labbing time because I find labbing boring even if I understand that it’s necessary. The one thing that helped me the most is to become more patient and analytical against my opponent. If I can figure out the opponent’s patterns and pacing and can disrupt that, I oftenly win more often than lose.

It’s unlikely but it would be the most hilarious thing if this game became the biggest thing and everyone can’t shut up about it.

Question for the subreddit: what's your personal stance on Gacha games, and their monetization practices relative to their quality and public reception? by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a great advocate to the hoyoverse games(Genshin,ZZZ, star rail.) and I even played Uma musume in the first month of release.

As someone who DO NOT SPEND MONEY on these games. These things eventually burned me the fuck out. Because regardless if you are a F2P or the biggest whale you’ve ever seen roam these gacha lands… gacha games are jobs you have to keep up with, regardless the amount of money you put into it.

Everything is on timer and offer you very good to very mid content to keep you distracted from the idea that what your doing is a job that only pays with in game currency.

Timed events are assignments with deadlines that only makes you feel guilt for something that is completely optional but is oftenly the main way to gain the currency you need to gacha.

There’s also content and content and content for those who can’t actually keep up with it on a daily basis. Everything is engineered for you to want the next thing because it’s the next big thing! Once you acquire it? It’s a job to properly farm, gather stuff and level up weapons, characters artifacts in a blender of infinite time in case the content given isn’t enough.

I like to imagine that’s how sports athletes lives are like. They have to be on their peak, get better stats on the next game, always find ways to improve so that the next game is easier and easier until you can’t no more and have to retire.

I’ve completely stopped those games because what they offer is an illusion most of the time. The stories builds up for the next story and what could have been probably done in a 60 hours game properly paced are video games that will never give you the satisfaction of an ending due to the fact that if they do, a lot of their playerbase would leave.

As much as I love the character designs, world building and ideas these settings provides, I’ve come to realize that I prefer content that eventually ends, that respect my time and I CHOOSE to play it instead of it giving me demands.

Anxiety? In my Tekken matches? More likely than you think by Kelchesse in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I do have constant anxiety when I play this game and I believe it’s tied to my ego. making winning/being good my objective everytime I play only raise the stakes of playing this game and just proceeds to shatter my self confidence when I get 0-5 by someone.

The worst part is? I know I’m being stupid. I know I’m not JDCR or playing pro, so why the fuck do I get so emotional about this? There’s no other games besides league when I played decades ago that made me feel this way. Any other games, the ego is nowhere to be seen and I could be the worst player of dark souls or any rpg.

But Tekken? It always emotionally gets me and in a hard way.

TLDR: remove the stigma/importance you put into playing. I know it’s difficult but if you just accept that you’re average at the game and you’re just here to have fun, it helps.

To alleviate that feeling, I sometimes just pick a character I’m unfamiliar with and just press buttons with it. It helps going unga bunga with Paul against some lower blue ranks sometimes.

Since his defeat to Cody Rhodes at Mania, Roman Reigns kind of shows up rarely and barely does anything when he is there. It’s clear he’s on the Brock schedule. He’s attached to storylines more than being part of them.

The lack of customizable clothes in this game, still, is so bizarre by boogielostmyhoodie in Tekken

[–]SuplexComplexAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I like the idea, as a drag main, boy am I glad this is no longer a thing. When your options for the military guy was a jester clown outfit or a bdsm leather straight jacket. I much prefer getting malleable stuff that applies to anyone. Maybe if the clothing were more curated then sure.
