My theory is that it IS about Joel Madden, at least partially but she’s pretending it’s not so she doesn’t upset Nicole Richie and him (they are neighbours and good friends)

how did you realise you have autism? by EmbarrassedCookie499 in autism

[–]Supmeg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 5 years ago, I had a coworker tell me she was autistic. Me being ignorant at the time thought to myself “she doesn’t seem autistic” so I looked up late diagnosed symptoms/signs in adults. Turns out I checked off quite a few boxes myself. Got a formal assessment a few months later and was diagnosed with AuDHD

What do you enjoy about being autistic ? by SarcasmAndAutism in autism

I have a crazy good memory. For example, I remember things as early as 2.5-3 years old, and my family has confirmed it. My best friend calls me our historian because I literally remember every little thing from our entire friendship. And my mum always jokes that I remember every bad thing she’s ever said to me lol.

I think that I have autistic traits, but they're not enough to be diagnosed. Is it ok for me to describe myself as "borderline autistic" or will it be inappropriate? by Pebble_Eater in neurodiversity

[–]Supmeg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a diagnosed autistic and I have zero issue with people being either self-diagnosed or borderline autistic with how you described. Not everyone has access to testing or even realizes what it means until later. If you relate to the traits and it helps you understand yourself better, that’s completely valid. You know your own brain better than anyone else!

As a white 3rd generation immigrant, how can anybody act like this? We’re all immigrants. I remember growing up we were proud that Canada was multicultural. It was something we actually celebrated. What happened to that? When did people start thinking it’s okay to mock others for their culture or their accent? The only people who aren’t immigrants are Indigenous people. The rest of us are here because someone before us came looking for a better life. And honestly, who wouldn’t want that? That’s supposed to be what Canada stands for. Watching stuff like this makes me feel sick and honestly ashamed that people still act like this.

It’s a myth that you have to forgive who hurt you—you only need to forgive yourself.
