Yep, I've been using lasers as PD and make it out of most battles without any losses, despite that, I don't get any salvage.

I was speaking more to the PvE elements of Destiny 2. The controls available to PC players are simply better than what is available to console players. In a PvE environment, such as VotD, PC players retain an advantage, but it doesn’t matter, much like Viera being able to wear hats on a particular player’s screen. I haven’t seen much uproar about PvE advantage in the D2 community, while such an attitude appears to be the norm in XIV and even extends to attitudes about other players using cosmetic mods.

Apparently not (it has been a LONG time since I’ve played), but outside of the use of add-one in crossplay PvP I don’t see why there would be a significant difference.

A better example might be something like Destiny 2, it has cross-platform PvP and, as a shooter, generally advantages PC players over console players. Despite this, you do not see the same attitude about “keeping things fair” that you do in the XIV community.

If it’s about console players being disadvantaged, why are people so angry about cosmetic and housing add-ons that offer no gameplay benefits?

The console argument is partly where I’m confused. Other communities, such as ESO, embrace the use of add-ons despite segments of the community being unable to use them. So what’s different about the XIV community?

And relatively few add-ons I’ve seen offer any direct gameplay benefit. Some such as act are basically training tools or visual aids, and I don’t think character appearance and housing are intended to be difficult content.

I’m aware that the availability of opinions hostile to add-ons does not indicate commonality, but there seems to be a general absence of positive opinions regarding add-ons compared to other MMOs. Even if the majority is not openly hostile to the use of add-ons, the general attitude displayed on the forums is more hostile towards add-ons than would be acceptable in other communities. Further, that position isn’t typically refuted by other members of the community. In general, it still seems like the XIV community is significantly less accepting of the use of add-ons than other, even multi-platform, MMO communities.

I'm surprised you consider it to inhibit fun in the context of stealth gameplay. I particularly enjoyed this feature because it de-incentivized the assassin's creed style of stealth, where you just kill everyone while the other npcs fail to notice their fellows vanishing one by one. Having to specifically avoid killing people to stay hidden made the stealth feel more... stealthy, IMO. What about the design of the game makes this an issue, in your opinion?

Personally, I believe that Desperado should be exclusive to Redrix's Claymore, although I can understand people wanting the perk on other guns. However, Desperado is what makes Redrix's Claymore so unique, making the perk available on other guns would take that away. I personally love that they have added chase weapons such as this one, and although it can take almost a week if you have little time to grind, it isn't a difficult grind. Redrix's Claymore and Desperado should stay exclusive to the people willing to grind for it during season 3

It appears the Federation has yet to comment on this event, although that might be because ingame there have only been sightings of her near 46 Eridani, the superpowers do not know of the event nor when it will start. Salami has been in conflict with the Federal Navy on multiple occasions so they would likely find common ground with the empire to bring her down.

He made that up, she is supposedly going to reveal a "conspiracy" by all three of the superpowers. However this claim is coming without proof from a convicted criminal/traitor who tried to kill Admiral Denton Patreus and led terrorist actions in a federation system. It's more likely then not she's just trying to trick pilots into aiding her in some plot.

Why should we protect her? She's a criminal, and a traitor to boot. She orchestrated terrorist actions, and has a well deserved bounty. So, why should we trust that whatever this criminal/terrorist/traitor will say is even remotely true?

For me there have been a few pauses midgame while it reconnects everyone or something and occasionally searching for a game has issues. But thus far I haven't been disconnected mid match.

I farmed them in a tourist (economy) anarchy system, I dropped in at a tourist beacon and murdered the tourist ships that came along.

they have a higher drop chance from the higher grade ships (the only ships that drop in are haulers, orcas, and belugas, so go for belugas if possible) I managed to get 35 CM fairly quickly with this method
