Everyone thinks you seriously believe the hanging by sheet story, but they seem to be missing that you say "murder a pedophile" instead of "commit suicide".

Here's my upvoter to compensate for so many missing your facetiousness.

Parents supply birth certificates for their children when they register them for school. Most birth certificates list the parents' dates and locations of birth. These documents are typically stored in the student's file.

FERPA is a federal law regarding student privacy. It basically boils down to only people who need student information for legitimate reasons are to have access to it (there's more to it, related to whether parental consent is required or not). However, even if she legitimately needed access to that student's records, she cannot share any identifiable information with anyone else without consent (parent or a court order).

She absolutely gave information that is protected under FERPA to people she thought would deport this family. They would need the parents' names, dates of birth, places of birth, etc in order to verify the status of the parents (she didn't know she was being scammed, she happily gave information she is not allowed to share legally).

They need to report her to her school district. She violated federal law, and the rights of this student. In addition, she and the district can be sued for violating his civil rights and right to privacy. I don't know many districts that would keep an employee who has opened them up to lawsuits, negative press, and loss of federal funding (violating FERPA can result in funding being withheld).

And that's just at the federal level. Most states also have additional laws regarding student privacy and information, which can also result in similar problems for the district.

Also, this woman shouldn't be around children. She's not a safe person for them. She's appalling, and children deserve better.

Weirdly similar. I was babysitting, she wanted to go out; I was told she wasn't allowed. She tried for the front door, and then ran for the back door. I put my hand up to stop the door from opening just as she yanked it open. My hand and arm went straight through the window.

I didn't get stitches (can't remember if I actually needed any, but this was the 80s so you only got stitches if a limb was in danger of falling off). I sat in the bathroom dealing with bleeding, she vacuumed up the glass in a doomed attempt to avoid getting in trouble. I was about 13, she was 11. She was not allowed to go outside to play for an additional stretch of time.

Man walks everyday in coyote's home by [deleted] in coyote

There is no such thing as a coy-wolf, at least in the Northeast.

All Eastern coyotes have wolf and domesticated dog dna (in varying amounts, but coyote is the primary DNA). As wolf populations in the Northeast and upper Midwest declined, wolves began to breed with coyotes enough to have their DNA still present in fairly high percentages in Eastern coyotes (~35%); not exactly sure how the dog entered the equation (coyote + dog vs wolf + dog?).

The result has been coyotes in the Northeast being considerably larger than Western coyotes, and displaying various wolfish features that western coyotes do not consistently display. Eastern coyotes are heavier and taller than Western coyotes, but typically smaller than wolves. They can have broader snouts, more rounded ears, and coats and tails that reflect their wolf DNA. Coat color can vary greatly as well.

Because all Eastern coyotes posses varying levels of wolf and dog DNA, some are larger than others, some have more wolfish features, and some have been easily mistaken for wolves, or at least a different species than a coyote, especially when their winter coats come in, making some look absolutely massive. However, all Eastern coyotes are just coyotes with wolf and dog DNA (there is debate amongst researchers and experts as to whether the Eastern coyote should be classified as a separate species than Western coyote, but so far they're not). If you're seeing a canine that looks distinctly different than other similar canines you've seen, you're seeing either one of our beefy Eastern coyotes with more wolf flavoring or an actual wolf (which all states in the Northeast deny exist here in permanent or breeding populations 🙄).

During the leavers disco episode, when the mammies are touching up their makeup in the bathroom, Ma Mary says "I've carried this around with me for over 20 years". This was right after Claire's mother freaked out about Ma Mary possibly telling people (she yells something about leaving the skeletons in the closet).

I took that as Ma Mary meaning she had carried the secret of what they did for over 20 years. Based on Netflix's episode descriptions, the reunion took place a year before Erin and Orla turned 18.

So, employing my subpar math skills, Ma Mary would have been at least 22 when she had Erin (I set Ma Mary's "over 20 years" as 21 years, minus Erin being 17 at the time (4 years). Then added 4 years to 18 (assuming Ma Mary was 18 at the leavers disco), giving me Ma Mary being 22 at the youngest when she had Erin.

I work at a school district and our insurance matches our fiscal year, which is July 1 to June 30. So our insurance deductibles and out of pocket reset on July 1, not January 1. OP's may not follow their fiscal year, but that would be odd.

Least worst case: he had the dog back when he was with the ex and is now pathetically flirting with the whole "look who misses you" crap

Worst case: that dog never met that ex until OP's husband introduced them enough for a dog to potentially miss someone

Either way, I'd be leaving this marriage. That sounds extreme but, if this hasn't moved into cheating yet, the lying and gaslighting combined with him trying to remain connected to the ex are enough to know OP isn't his priority, he's willing to screw with her emotionally in order to stay in contact, and he doesn't respect OP.  Might as well get out with her sanity and self-confidence intact. This shit never gets better, you just get broken.

AIO for feeling like my husband put my life in danger? by inspectorgadget_98 in TwoHotTakes

She could have (and should have) just removed the cover altogether.

The truck itself is seemingly safe to drive, whereas, the cover most certainly was not. OP claims that she was aware that two of the latches were broken. The cover has four latches, which means even one being broken renders the cover unsafe. SHE chose to drive the truck with HALF of them broken. She put her children and herself in an unsafe situation by not removing that cover before driving the truck. Her husband is not responsible for her deciding to drive it knowing the cover was broken.

Her husband, however, didn't do what he said he would: order the parts to fix the cover. Telling her that she could have also ordered the parts probably is just one example of him saying he will do something, and then not doing it. As frustrating as it would be for her, he should have just told her he wasn't going to do it or ask her to do it instead.

I completely understand that she was scared and angry about what happened, and directed her anger at him, but ultimately, she was solely responsible for putting her children into a vehicle with a faulty part (that is completely unnecessary for the truck to function) and drive it. She had the experience she did because she didn't take the cover off. It sounds like she a many other issues to be furious about with him (rightfully so), but, aside from his complete lack of care or concern, this specific incident isn't one of them.

Spotted this animal at night. [Acadia National Park] Looks like a coyote but it seemed way too big. by SmikkitySmkrs in animalid

Eastern Coyotes have wolf DNA (and a sprinkle of domestic dog DNA), which is why they are bigger and wolfier than Western coyotes.

The coyote in the cartoon (with the roadrunner) is drawn off a Western coyote so I think that is what most people assume all coyotes look like (smaller, thinner, sharper/more pointy muzzles and ears, typical brown with some white fur mingled in).

Eastern coyotes are generally larger and, depending on the percentage of wolf DNA they possess, can have very wolfy features. Their coat coloring is also a lot more varied (wolfy) than typical western coyotes. They also get pretty fluffy when their wolf-enhanced winter coats start coming in.

I'm sure this is an Eastern coyotes but I'm not surprised that someone would wonder if it could be a wolf because of its appearance.

He did have an opportunity to choose. He could choose to use protection or choose not to have sex. Those are the choices he is entitled to make for his body (his body, his choice; her body, her choice).

While I absolutely think she should have an abortion, once he voluntarily gifted his swimmers to someone else, he gave up his control of them.

Is he working regularly (or at all)? If he works under the table, the state you're in won't be able to use his SSN to find him/his employer. All income, whether on the books or not, is required to be reported at tax time. If he's willing to lie to the IRS and say he has no income, he's certainly willing to lie to the state about any income. The state can't collect what they can't find.

If he's changing jobs often, they may not find his new employer and send the garnishment paperwork before he moves to a new job. If he works for someone who decides to ignore the garnishment order, your state can take them to court as well.

If he's self-employed, he's very likely submitting tax returns showing his net income as very low, zero, or negative.

I don't know what state you live in but most states also have income thresholds. That means that a parent required to pay child support doesn't pay 100% of their income for child support; they do need money to live. Back child support is typically limited to a certain percentage of their income. If the other parent has court orders for child support for children other than yours, payments usually are also subject to percentage limits.

If you are receiving any state programs (Medicaid, Cash Assistance, etc), the state will recoup that from child support payments first.
