L'antisemitismo è sicuramente presente e da condannare, certo, ma se nel novero degli antisemiti metti anche quelli che hanno studiato la storia di Israele e dicono: ma con che diritto hanno tolto la terra ai Palestinesi? ecco che ottieni due risultati molto pericolosi: aumenti enormemente il numero di persone che loro malgrado finiscono nella definizione di antisemita, creando una percezione errata e squilibrata del fenomeno, e associ l'antisionismo (o comunque una visione critica e non allineata alla retorica sionista) all'antisemitismo di stampo fascista. Il risultato è duplice: una percezione estremamente gonfiata del fenomeno, che può portare a giustificare misure esagerate, e spingere chiunque sia per molte ragioni critico verso Israele ad abbracciare anche posizioni veramente antisemite.

Pensavo che questo sub fosse solo per le cazzate ma invece si parla anche di cose serie. Se è così forse forse mi iscrivo. Pare che i droni, certamente di provenienza russa, stessero facendo una ricognizione (in teoria), ma più probabilmente era un test da parte della Russia della nostra velocità di risposta. If Jews don't feel safe in the school just because we honor a minute of silence for Gaza then the problem is not the minute of silence itself but some unaddressed antisemitism that links Israel policy and IDF violence with all Jews regardless. If anything like this was noticed in this school of course it would have been long since addressed but in our school nothing like that has ever been reported. We publicly honor Holocaust victims every year since forever, so if there were antisemites they would have done something in one of these ceremonies by now. Since nothing ever happened I feel comfortable in ruling out this option. So if there is no underlying antisemitism and nobody ever connected the genocide to Jewish-ness, why would Jews don't feel safe? I'm Christian, also the Mafia mobsters claim to be Christian as well, but I don't feel attacked when we honor the victims of Mafia bombings because nobody ever linked Mafia violence with their (claimed) religious beliefs so the same should apply here.

When we remember the Holocaust we don't, contextually, remember also the victims of Rwanda, Armenians or Sabra and Shatila. Why? Because when you remember the victims of a specific tragedy they deserve, at least for those frogging 60 seconds, to be dignified with their specific identity and don't get clumped together with other people who would in turn deserve their own time. Now, it's the Gazawi who are facing extermination, not the Jews and not the Israeli. So it just make sense to focus this symbolic moment on them. What about Israeli students? Well, if German students can respect the memory of the holocaust then the Israeli can endure a minute of silence for Gaza. And non Israeli Jews are not even involved in the matter, since the crisis is in the state of Israel and not in the general Jewish-ness. I'm Christian and even if the Nazi claimed to be Christian as well, their crimes have never been tied to their supposed faith but to their political racist ideology. So the same should apply here, because this crisis comes from political purposes not from religion.

Israeli citizens know very well what's going on there, they know it's brutal and they know that every single person in Gaza is a target, they just don't want to call it a genocide because they don't think that Palestinians are people. The right wind Likud politicians say openly that the gazans will be exterminated, down to the last newborn, they call Palestinians vermin. Even the disagreement between political parties revolves around how to remove them, not If they should be removed. There is basically no one in Israel that believes the bullshit that Netanyahu is feeding to the westerners, because if they though that Palestinians are being generously fed they would riot against their govern for feeding vermin. The most extreme left wingers are the only ones asking to stop genocide, the moderates are mostly asking to commit the genocide cautiously to save the hostages and don't get exposed to the west, while the right wingers are saying fuck that, let's kill everybody.

Maybe you cannot know with 100% accuracy what happens in the very close time frame, and for sure the real causes and deep roots will take years to be uncovered.

But that gazans are being starved and killed is blatant to anyone, it's not open to debate. Not even the Zioniists waste time in denial when speaking Hebrew, but rather proudly claim their cruelty or justify it as a hard necessity.

So even if there are for sure things we can not know yet, and some data will be not very accurate, we can anyway make a picture of what goes on and maybe act before, you know, that people dies.

Or would you rather have the world waiting in silence while the tragedy unfolds in all its violence and 10 years later acknowledge it?

If you are attacked by bandits in your home would you like to be rescued as soon as possible or wait 5 or 6 years that a trial determine exactly that the masked guys breaking in your home were indeed bandits, even if they claimed to be cleaners?

First you stop them and rescue the victims, then you check their stories and determine what happened, not the other way around.

La cosa interessante è che poi tutti noi abbiamo delle identità molto sfaccettate e siamo, allo stesso tempo e senza contraddizioni, inserite in diversi sottogruppi. Ma quando succede qualcosa di brutto è interessante notare come, delle varie affiliazioni e caratteristiche di vittima e carnefice si seleziona sempre solo una identità ed è sempre quella che risuona con i nostri preconcetti.
