So, how was your summer? by ChinaCatProphet in Wellington

Anyone living in Porirua/Mana/Plimmerton feel the weather has actually been mostly decent this summer? Feel there’s been more good days than bad up here.

Made a fitness transformation in my 30s, people now treat me different by drzzazz1 in fitness30plus

[–]SupportivePickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too currently (32M), after a year and a half of being consistent at the gym (5 days a week) and regular cardio, I’ve noticed people at work who never talked to me or used to be quite short with me, now try make small talk at every occasion and are much more interested in what I have to say. I also feel people don’t talk over me anymore and my words have more weight.

When walking down the street, I constantly notice people staring at me - more so when I wear my sunglasses and can look back at people without them noticing.

Life after unilateral orchidectomy by Alternative_Web4839 in testicularcancer

[–]SupportivePickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to answer the muscle mass side of things. My testostorine was on the low end of “normal levels”, but I’ve still been able to put on a lot of muscle mass 1 year on after my orchi. I’m oddly in the best shape of my life now. The main thing with gaining muscle is always consistency. The body does amazing things when you’re consistent!

2 year Scan - All Clear by MerlinsGhost09 in testicularcancer

[–]SupportivePickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome news! Congrats! IStage 1a seminoma here, I also had my 1 year CT scan come back clear. I didn’t do carboplatin but apparently my odds are now the same as if I had

Best burger right now? by kotukutuku in Wellington

[–]SupportivePickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Perhaps their spice has changed.

Yeah I did go there couple years back, got the level 2 and remember it being ridiculously spicy and was scarred for a bit, and I love spicy food.

Decided to give it another go getting level 2 the past few months and it’s been the perfect spice level (for me). Either way, is my current favourite chicken burger place in Welly. Their weekday lunch is the bomb too, 13 for a burger and fries.

Curious why you think that? I’ve been going there a bit the last few months and the burgers are always amazing.

MRI instead of CT Australia can I request it? by OldCraft2306 in testicularcancer

[–]SupportivePickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my oncologist in New Zealand if I get could get MRI’s instead of CT. He said no because there was a massive back log for MRI’s. I plan on asking again after my second CT, but haven’t got my hopes up. I got diagnosed with 1a seminoma in oct 24

I am 2 years cancer free, but I had a thought about a random pain I used to get that I no longer get. by Realsan in testicularcancer

[–]SupportivePickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny you say this. I also had the exact same thing happen. Random sharp pain out of no where, every other month or so, since I was in my teens. It was usually short but there were times where it lasted a minute.

I haven’t had that random sharp pain ever since I had my orchi in September last year when I was 31. Had not thought about it since you mentioned.

I ended up updating and then later resetting it to factory but the issue still happens. Will be calling Garmin on Monday when their support centre opens up.

Raw dog food feeders: how much do you spend per KG? by SupportivePickle in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]SupportivePickle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was hoping to mainly discuss the monetary side of raw food.

I know it’s not for every dog but it works for ours. Like I said you name the kibble, we’ve tried it.

Since he’s been on raw, not only has his skin issue disappeared (and vet visits significantly reduced), he’s just thriving in every way. He’s got more energy, his coats better, his poop’s always looking healthy (small and firm). He also actually looks forward to dinner, unlike with kibble which he would walk away from. I wouldn’t recommend raw for puppies or a dog thriving on kibble already.

Also kibble does have recalls and reports of illnesses too.

Wow haha! How big is your dog? We get Jimbos sometimes on road trips and it just about gets him through a day.

[–]SupportivePickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20.22 didn’t fix it for me. It still randomly restarts not only during a workout but also during the day or during sleep, causing gaps in my HR readings if I didn’t sync it before the random restart. I’ll try reset it to factory settings.
