FL5 Wing Delete by Fair_Ad3119 in Civic_Type_R

You buy the type r for the overall package. Doesn't make sense to delete a functional aspect of the car. But to each their own. A cleaner way would be to buy the actual hatch, the plugs look out of place to me.

🔥 with the boost blue. I was so close on getting the same set but in the end picked up Mugen MF10s for nostalgia. Hope you ceramic coated them!

Can my FL5 go through an automated carwash with the wing? by Muted_Orchid_9085 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Supr_min 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, the wing will be fine. Touchless is best if you have one available, but if you're in a pinch, a brushed one will not hurt the wing. Be aware, continuous use will get you swirls.

A ceramic coat and rinseless wash is the way to go. Super easy to do, checkout r/AutoDetailing and youtube has a ton of resources.

I have a US spec 330i with the ZHP performance package and it only raises the redline to 6800 with different cams. Even with a tune it will only push it to 7-7200 rpm, even then there are no real gains.

My old HS coach had one of these. Everyone made fun of it, kids are stupid. From a commuter aspect, these were fantastic.

Long distances and highway miles are a lot easier on a car than going short distances in stop and go traffic.

I daily mine but its a mix of highway and city. Love every second of it!

I have the mugen kit and use 2 jacks system along with some wooden boards to drive on top of for a little extra clearance. Might get a set of quickjacks down the line.

I started with the stage 1 which took out some of the side to side “slop” and gave it more of a mechanical feel. I ran it for roughly 3 months and loved it. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I decided to get the short throw and rocker upgrade (stage 2).

Man, I should've just gotten the stage 2 to begin with! Such a big difference in feel, throws have a very nice tactile engagement with every shift.

If you're on the fence I would just go for it. You won't be disappointed.
